Are the two. The five wisdoms that symbolize the characteristics are similarly said to be the ornaments of both. The symbolic example is like gold adorned with turquoise. The definition is the distinction of meaning: adorning the Dharmakaya with the Dharmata, and embellishing with the clear severance in emptiness. Adorning the Dharmakaya with wisdom, and embellishing with the inexhaustible qualities. Adorning the clear wisdom with great compassion, and embellishing by guiding the six realms of beings to their own places. Therefore, it is called an ornament because of its beauty. Then, explaining the meaning of play: the unobstructed, non-dual union is shown to be the essence of play. Why is it called play? It arises from itself and is liberated from itself. This is the reason with definition. If divided, there are two forms: pure Dharmata play and samsaric self-continuum play. Pure Dharmata play is: from the unconditioned Dharmata and the unwavering essence, the self-nature arises without obstruction. Just as in the sky free from habits, the radiance of the four elements arises. Knowing that appearances are without self-nature, the unobstructed self-radiance is greatly clear. Samsaric self-continuum play is: the phenomena contained in the outer and inner vessels, appearing as form is the body, which cannot be grasped like the moon in water. All sounds and languages are speech, which has no self-nature like an echo in the mountains. Memory and conceptualization are mind, like drawing pictures on water. The self-continuum of grasping does not exist. Therefore, all appearances of form are the play of the body, all sounds and languages are the play of speech, and all memories and conceptualizations are the play of mind. In this way, due to not knowing, one grasps at characteristics and self-continuum. This is the play of samsara. For yogis and realized beings, all the various appearances of ornaments and play, although appearing like illusions, have no self-nature. Dharmata Dharmakaya is not apparent but has self-nature. Because of existence, one realizes non-existence, thereby subduing characteristics. Because of non-existence, one realizes existence, thereby awareness seizes its own ground. For that purpose, the four-fold complete ornament mandala is beautiful. Alas! Alas! Secret Lord, wherever ornaments and play arise from, please understand as I have said here. Thus it was said. From the great tantra of clarity of meaning free from elaboration, the chapter on showing ornaments and play, the fourteenth, is complete. Then, again, the Secret Lord asked: Alas! Alas! Blessed Vajradhara, please speak the words that symbolize it.

Asked. The Teacher said: In all the teachings and transmissions I have taught, the Dharmakaya abides in the nature of reality. If words are spoken in this way, it is explained that the Dharmakaya expands in the nature of reality. Dividing the characteristics of awareness into five, those five are the characteristics of the five wisdoms. If it is said that it is its radiance, it is explained that the Dharmakaya is adorned with wisdom. The five wisdom lights are perfected as the body, and the lineage, color, and shape are spoken of, it is explained that wisdom is adorned with compassion. Skill and play, adornment and activity, arranged in order and appearing in many ways, with lotus, beauty and ugliness, uninterruptedly appearing, heart and strength, arranging appearance and existence as adornment, and arranging transmissions as adornment, and arranging instructions as adornment, and arranging the six realms as adornment, these are many words spoken, but they are condensed. Thus he spoke. From the Great Tantra of Freedom from Proliferation, the fifteenth chapter, which briefly explains the words of adornment and play. Then the Lord of Secrets asked again: What are the examples of those symbols? Please, skillful one, speak. Thus he asked. The Teacher said: Just as the sun and moon clearly exist in the center of the sky, and precious gold is inlaid with turquoise, this is shown as an example of the Dharmakaya adorned with the nature of reality. Just as a peacock egg has five colors, and the five bodies and five lights of the mani jewel are uninterrupted, this is an example of the Dharmakaya adorned with wisdom. Just as the mani jewel manifests outward when it encounters conditions, and the chick in the egg matures and comes out to do its work, and the essence of the sun produces light and rays, this is an example of wisdom adorned with compassion. Just as drops of water scatter and gather in the ocean, and various images appear through the combination of illusion, qualities are uninterrupted, and play appears in any way, these examples are many, but they are condensed. Thus he spoke. From the Great Tantra of Freedom from Proliferation, the sixteenth chapter, which explains the examples symbolizing adornment and play. In the vast land, in the city called Padma Desal, There lived a king named Norbu Oden. He had a large jewel-made food container filled with many small jewels. One day, he went out for a walk, inspecting his territory,
