Now, the samadhi explained from one perspective. Having attained forbearance, one will not fall into the lower realms. This means having attained the forbearance that is not afraid of the profound meaning, that is, everything is merely an appearance of the mind, and the self-nature established as a basis for substance does not exist. The samadhi immediately following the supreme Dharma is the four stages of the path of joining. It is the pinnacle of all the Dharmas of the worldly path, that is, the wisdom of non-duality of subject and object, in which the imputation of self to a person does not exist. Those are also understood in the manner of general meanings related to sound and meaning. It and non-existence, clear appearance are the same in meaning, like the second moon and the generation stage. Sound cognition is also like that. That is also the first time to cultivate the five faculties in the two stages of heat and peak of the path of manifestation and joining, there are five in that, that is, in which object, in what way, what is the essence, for what purpose, sound and meaning. The first is for the four truths, that also has sound and meaning, entity, the characteristic that the path of seeing is not certain when it arises, one or different, definite number, order and six aspects. The first is that the teachings are not inconsistent, that is, it is certain as the Victorious One and Nepal have taught, and if one sees it, it becomes the cause of complete purification, so that unerring wisdom arises, that is, it is true from the perspective of both object and subject. That is also because what the noble ones see and abandon is the truth, so it is the truth. Second, the entity of the truth of suffering is the impure outer and inner, in the Compendium it says, what is the truth of suffering? That is the birth of sentient beings, and the place of birth should also be known. The origin is afflictions and actions arising from the power of afflictions. Cessation is the weakening of the seed through conventions and worldly paths. The manifest afflictions are suppressed, and the ultimate truth is that the noble ones uproot the seed. There is incomplete cessation and complete cessation. The fourth is the state of Buddhahood. How is it? That is, suchness, path, and afflictions, that is, what, by what, where is it eliminated. The path is, knowing, abandoning, manifesting, cultivating, is a brief summary of the characteristics of the path. Or it is believed that all five paths are the path of truth. Those are the entities. Third, each truth has four aspects, so there are sixteen.

Furthermore, firstly, impermanence is the momentary arising and ceasing. Therefore, all feelings are inseparable from suffering, hence they are suffering. Since the objects of self-grasping have no lord, they are empty. Since there is no self of the person, they are selfless. Secondly, the origin is the root of all suffering, hence it is the cause. All suffering arises from it, hence it is the origin. Intense suffering arises immediately, hence it is intense arising. The coordinator who experiences suffering is the condition. Thirdly, cessation is the prevention of future suffering and the cause of origin. All erroneous afflictions are pacified, hence it is pacification. It is the supreme and excellent Dharma, hence it is sublime. Without turning back, one is definitely liberated from samsara, hence it is definite emergence. Because it is free from afflictions, because it is free from suffering, because it is the essence without impurity, it is the basis of constant bliss. Fourthly, the path is the path to be traversed from higher to higher. It is the antidote to afflictions, hence it is wisdom. Cultivating the mind without perversion is cultivation. Constantly leading to the state of liberation and nirvana is emergence. The fourth is that cessation and the other three are the difference of preventing one. During the equipoise of the noble ones, although the truth of the path and the truth of suffering are different, they are not contradictory in the subsequent attainment. The two, path and origin, are different entities. The two, suffering and origin, have the same basis, but origin pervades suffering, while suffering does not pervade origin. Fifthly, it is because the objects to be adopted and abandoned with discernment, the cause and effect of all purification, are each determined. Sixthly, firstly, the practitioner follows the order, as stated in the Uttaratantra: Disease is to be known, the cause of disease is to be abandoned, and medicine is to be taken in order to attain well-being. Suffering, cause, and cessation, and likewise the path, are to be known, abandoned, realized, and cultivated. Secondly, one approaches the former, which has a cause, and enters the latter. That is, according to the order, one cultivates the four truths by generating faith, generating joy, not forgetting the object and aspect, one-pointedness of mind, and through the way of completely distinguishing each. Thirdly, it is the characteristic of each. Fourthly, it is the accomplishment of the four preparatory paths and the path of seeing.
