It is like relying on something. It is also the cause for entering the Four Noble Truths, as stated in the Madhyāntavibhāga: "For the return from bad states, for the cause of existence, for the foundation, and for not being ignorant, one should meditate on mindfulness to enter the Four Noble Truths." The fifth is: the Lesser Vehicle places awareness in the object of mindfulness, while the Great Vehicle places mindfulness in the object of wisdom. The general characteristic is that wisdom distinguishes between the general and specific characteristics of the body, etc., and then mindfulness protects its continuity, so mindfulness is placed near the object of wisdom. Mindfulness does not forget the object of focus, and wisdom's investigation establishes selflessness, so wisdom is placed near the object of mindfulness. The second is to cultivate the four right abandonments that arise from effort. In this, there are five aspects: What is the object? How is it done? What is the essence? What is the purpose? What is the meaning of the word? The first is that virtue is pure and non-virtue is defiled, and they are divided into four types based on whether they have arisen or not. The second is: in order to prevent unwholesome dharmas that have not arisen from arising, generate aspiration. Abide, that is, strive for the meaning that precedes diligence. Exert effort. Direct attention to the three: calm, insight, and equanimity. Initiate diligence. It is the antidote to sinking and excitement. Hold the mind completely. If sinking, then elevate the mind with attention to the body, etc. Settle the mind completely. If excitement, then generate aversion to samsara, and due to weariness, gather the mind inward. The third is diligence. The fourth is: in order for non-virtue to diminish and virtue to increase. The fifth is a name for one aspect of abandoning non-virtue. Or it means to completely settle the three doors. Third, cultivate the path that completely purifies meditative concentration, the four legs of miraculous power. In this also, there are five aspects: What is the object? How is it done? What is the essence? What is the purpose? What is the meaning of the word? The first is to take virtuous paths such as miracles as the object. The second is to abandon the five faults and rely on the eight antidotes. The first is: when beginning practice, laziness is a great obstacle, so rely on its antidotes, namely aspiration, diligence, faith, and pliancy. When entering, forgetting the instructions is a great obstacle, so rely on mindfulness that does not forget the object as an antidote. During meditation, sinking and excitement are obstacles.

Therefore, rely on mindfulness as an antidote. The first two are cause and effect, the first reliance is three, and the third reliance is four. In order to eliminate sinking and agitation, regard the non-fabricating antidote as the mind of superior application. To counteract fabrication, cultivate equanimity. The third generally refers to samadhi. Specifically, it refers to the samadhi of the four limbs of miraculous power, which possess the desire to abandon fabrication, namely, desire, diligence, mind, and contemplation, each connected to the divine feet. For the meaning to be cultivated, the desire to pursue it with faith; the diligence to enter with joy; the mind focused on it and entering into samadhi; and the contemplation of whether faults such as sinking and agitation arise in it. The fourth is that all the fruits that one desires to manifest, such as miraculous powers, are accomplished. The fifth is that miraculous power refers to all qualities such as the five superknowledges, and it is the root or foot-like basis for accomplishing these qualities, hence it is named as such. The fourth word meaning refers to the accumulation of the causes and conditions for great Bodhi, therefore it is said as such. The fifth ground refers to the ground of faith that arises from believing in the ultimate truth of Dharma nature. Here, the antidote refers to refuting by viewing it as a fault. The second is the path of joining, which has five aspects: the basis, the nature, the classification, the meaning of the words, and the ground. The first has two bases, body and mind, the former is similar to the path of accumulation, and the latter is any of the six dhyana grounds. The second is that on the basis of the seven yogas, wisdom arising from meditation, that is, realizing the general meaning of emptiness. Regarding this, Lochen believes in realizing the general meaning of emptiness, and Sakya Pandita believes in directly realizing self-awareness. The third has four, namely, the samadhi of the heat stage of obtaining warmth and light, which is also a sign of the arising of the fire-like vision of the path, that is, the heat sign, which is the clarity of the unestablished grasping and conceptualization of the cause and effect of samsara. Self-awareness means being separated from matter, and at that time, consciousness is called self-awareness. It is said that new appearances are obtained. The peak is the samadhi of increasing light. Having obtained the peak, the peak appears. It is said. It is the peak of all moving roots of virtue, that is, previously determined, and the grasping and conceptualization of cause and effect are also not established in their own nature. Patience is just that.
