Now, it has been very beneficial for generating certainty and many details. In particular, summarizing the key points of Dharma into three, such as renunciation, I think this is grasping the key points of practice from the root. Regarding renunciation, I have also experienced aversion due to suffering, and many non-Buddhists also have aversion due to the suffering of change. Aversion due to the suffering of conditioned existence is a unique characteristic of the Buddha's teachings. Experiencing to this extent, even the happiness of Brahma and Indra, craving will not arise even in dreams. If there is no view of realizing emptiness, it is difficult to generate genuine renunciation. Nowadays, it seems that many people regard the weariness of unpleasantness in body and mind as renunciation, but such renunciation is like the fear of being chased by pigs and dogs, which is of no use. Regarding Bodhicitta, even if the praises of the Buddha are expressed, many only generate the thought of pursuing its state, but this does not give rise to genuine Bodhicitta that is effective. Genuine Bodhicitta requires a special essence, which is the desire to liberate all beings. If there is no wisdom that realizes emptiness, one will not know the nature of the Bodhi to be attained. If one does not know this, one will be tainted by wrong views that cling to the existence or non-existence of Bodhi, and like the Bodhicitta of non-Buddhists, it will not become genuine Bodhicitta. If there is no special compassion, the pursuit of Bodhi will not arise for the benefit of others, and like the Bodhicitta of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, one will not enter the Great Vehicle path. Therefore, those followers of Dharma who are sharp-witted should first strive to seek the wisdom of suchness through scripture and reasoning. After gaining the view of realizing emptiness, compassion arises for sentient beings who have not realized it, and for their benefit, the thought of pursuing Bodhi arises. For followers who are dull-witted and faithful, first, relying on the words of praise from spiritual friends, etc., the thought of pursuing Bodhi arises, and then, based on hearing, etc., the view of emptiness arises, then the previous thought of pursuing Bodhi is grasped by the wisdom of emptiness, thus transforming into genuine Bodhicitta with emptiness and compassion as its essence. In short, without the view of emptiness, genuine Bodhicitta cannot arise. The extent to which the experience of generating genuine Bodhicitta can reach is... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Compassion that is not artificial arises for all those who are just a little below (enlightened beings). This is very difficult. This lineage of instructions seems to have a special way of guiding the arising of renunciation and Bodhicitta, and of enhancing them. It would be excellent if it could be written down in detail, sealed, and sent through the middle. If guided by others, it seems necessary to guide in a way that is consistent with their understanding and in a certain order. I myself have only listened to these three teachings and practiced them without disrupting the order. Regarding views, in general, due to the different tenets of external and internal schools, there are various good and bad views, but all of these are nothing more than conceptual thoughts. Therefore, I say that in the Samadhi of the Noble Ones and in the state of Buddhahood, there are no good or bad views. The views of the outsiders are entirely the cause of Samsara and the lower realms. The view of selflessness of persons in our own two schools, although not the actual path to liberation, can become a stepping stone to the path. The view of Vijnanavada (Consciousness-only) seems to only reach the stages of warmth and peak, and cannot generate forbearance, because having become accustomed to this, it is impossible to generate a clear appearance that accords with reality on the selflessness of inherent existence. Therefore, having become accustomed to the view of the Mind-only school, forbearance cannot arise, and to generate it, it undoubtedly needs to ascend to the Madhyamaka (Middle Way) view. The view of the Svatantrika (Autonomist) does not abandon the highest Dharma until the attainment of the Bhumi (stage), and undoubtedly needs to be abandoned after attaining the Bhumi, because they hold these to be merely illusory. The Noble Ones, however, do not even hold conventional truths to be merely illusory in their subsequent attainment, because they have comprehended that all Dharmas are merely names, concepts, and designations. However, having become accustomed to the view of the Svatantrika, the wisdom of the Noble Ones arises, so generating the Path of Seeing through this view does not depend on ascending to a higher view. The view of the Prasangika (Consequentialist) follows the subsequent attainment of the Noble Ones below the Tenth Bhumi, because in their subsequent attainment, they completely use the Dharmas of dependent origination as merely names, concepts, and designations. In the state of Buddhahood, this is also abandoned, because Buddhas do not perceive any characteristics of name and meaning in any state. Therefore, both Madhyamaka Svatantrika and Prasangika are similar in that they consider ultimate reality to be beyond expression, but the unique difference lies in holding dependent origination to be merely illusory, and holding it to be merely a designation. When holding it to be merely illusory, one acknowledges that in conventional truth there is an experience and awareness that is merely illusory, and that what is to be abandoned and the antidote are also illusory experiences and awareness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
