This is not the true intention of any treatise. Generally, in the sutras that teach the essence of the Sugata (Tathāgatagarbha), it is necessary to understand both the literal meaning and the intended meaning. These sutras are not interpreted literally, but rather their intended meaning is explained from the perspective of both Madhyamaka and Cittamatra. The literal meaning refers to the fact that neither the state of sentient beings nor the state of the Buddha can be established even nominally, because it is no different from the 'self' of the heretics. The intended meaning is divided into two views: the Madhyamaka and the Cittamatra. First, it is divided into two categories: that which is included in the relative truth and that which is included in the ultimate truth. The former refers to the fact that the nature of the mind is knowing and clear, and that in all states it is not mistaken about the nature of the mind. In the Paramita Vehicle, it is referred to by names such as mind, Alaya-vijñāna (store consciousness), taking consciousness, Vipāka-vijñāna (resultant consciousness), and Tathāgatagarbha (Buddha-nature). In the Vajrayana, it is referred to by other names such as cause tantra, mind appearance, appearance increase, appearance near attainment, and space pervading space vajra. Similarly, according to the Paramita Vehicle, the state of being under the control of karma, afflictions, and conceptual thoughts is called samsara (cyclic existence); according to the Vajrayana, the state of being under the control of eighty kinds of self-nature conceptual thoughts or the obscurations of the four states is called samsara. When these obscurations are completely cleared, it is called Buddha and liberation. This principle is clearly explained in texts such as the Madhyamaka Dharmadhatu Stotra and the Praise of Vajra Mind. Second, the intended meaning included in the ultimate truth refers to the fact that the above-mentioned mind, if it truly exists, then it will not remain on any side such as existence or non-existence. This state is called the ultimate truth. It is with this in mind that the Tathāgatagarbha and Alaya-vijñāna, etc., are taught. In the Madhyamakāvatāra (Entering the Middle Way), it says: 'The Alaya-vijñāna exists, the Pudgala (person) exists, and these skandhas (aggregates) also merely exist.' This explains an extremely profound meaning that cannot be understood by reason. 'This reveals the truth in a direct way, this confirms it through reasoning in a hidden way. Other similar sutras also clearly explain the direct meaning in this way.' etc., which are clearly explained in the root text and commentary. Second, is... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The view of the Yogacara school is: mainly, the nature of the alaya-vijñana (俱生意识,梵文:ālayavijñāna,梵文罗马拟音:ālayavijñāna,汉语字面意思:阿赖耶识), is the very nature of awareness and clarity. Because it is defiled by the habit of clinging to appearances as grasper and grasped, it gives rise to the appearance of the external world of objects and the internal world of sentient beings, and clinging to appearances as grasper and grasped, one is controlled by karma and afflictions. When experiencing the suffering of birth, death, etc., in the five realms of samsara, it is called 'sentient being' and 'samsara'. Other than that, there is no other 'samsara'. When it is purified by various antidotes to be abandoned on the paths of seeing and meditation, and is not yet completely purified by abandoning all that is to be abandoned, it is given the name of 'Bodhisattva' and other entrants to the path. Other than that, there is no other practitioner of the path. When it is free from all obscurations of afflictions and knowledge, purifying the nature of all dualistic appearances of purity and impurity, and abiding in the non-dual nature of its own being at all times, it benefits sentient beings as long as samsara exists by creating appearances of various form bodies for those to be tamed. This is called Buddha, Dharmakaya (法身), Svabhavikakaya (自性身), etc. As it is said in the Sutra of No Increase No Decrease: 'Shariputra, that Dharmakaya is covered by the womb of afflictions, disturbed by strife, carried away by the stream of samsara, revolving in the beginningless and endless cycle of samsara, experiencing death and birth, is called the realm of sentient beings. Shariputra, that Dharmakaya, weary of the suffering of samsara, free from desire and attachment to all objects, belonging to the ten paramitas, practicing the four thousand dharmas for the sake of enlightenment, that practice is called Bodhisattva. Shariputra, that Dharmakaya is completely liberated from all wombs of afflictions, having transcended all suffering, free from all stains of the near afflictions, abiding in the nature of purity, utterly pure, most utterly pure, abiding in the state to be seen by all sentient beings, having obtained the power of the man who is non-dual with all knowable dharmas, possessing the nature of dharma without the obscuration of near afflictions, having obtained the unobstructed power of the mastery of all dharmas, that is the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
