Eighteenth section. Meditation is the supreme Dharma of Bodhi, conduct is the flawless Paramita, and the fruit is the countless three, etc. Those two paths are long paths. The third is, the swift path is the path of mantra. For the wrathful deity, make the threatening mudra with both hands, with the left hand at the heart, and the right hand pointing to the sky on the right side, looking at the tip of the finger with both eyes. For the wrathful female deity, reverse this to the left. In all ways of looking, the mind should not be fixed on that. If placed on the luminosity of awareness, it will go to self-liberation. The three examples of no-mind, etc., were also spoken. For tranquility, starting from holding the minds of gods and humans, there are many distinctions up to the cessation of wind and mind. But here, it is not like something arising from the power of sudden instructions. Rather, it should be understood as the essence of awareness, the realm of primordial emptiness, unchanging from the beginning, free from subject and object, the naturally inherent meditation. Insight should also be understood as wisdom free from consciousness. Therefore, without losing the state of view, without forgetting the state of meditation, without separating from the mind of enlightenment, meditate with the first way of looking, the second makes it stable by mixing with conditions, and the third makes the stable liberated. The four characteristics of awareness are: the Dharmadhatu is primordially free from elaboration, when measured from the aspect of the essence of original purity, it is the nature of emptiness like the sky; although it is extremely non-conceptual, when measured from the aspect of the self-illuminating wisdom of nature, it is the nature of luminosity like the center of the sun; when measured from the aspect of the union of those two, the gate of compassion arising without interruption, awareness is not scattered, it is bright like the eyeball, the nature of clarity like a mirror. It is said that the self-arisen primordial ground, the uncompounded wisdom, the nature of the union of awareness and emptiness, is like the ground luminosity mother. The ground appearance path luminosity is like the son, from the skillful means of compassion, whatever conceptual aggregates arise, all are the radiance of wisdom itself, that is the ground appearance from the ground, the son from the father, the sound of the drum from the drum, it arises from that. The appearing phenomena, first recognize them as self-appearances, and then determine that self-appearances have no self-nature. The knower himself perfects his power on the ground, like a son reaching his mother's lap, therefore the name of mother and son is established.

It is said that it also means to be liberated like the meeting of mother and child. It is said that the purification of coarse winds and minds when the skill is perfected and stability is attained is truly called the wisdom of the path. Relying on that path of wisdom, it becomes a path of wisdom that purifies obscurations as an antidote to the two obscurations. The wisdom of the inseparability of the three bodies, the nature of the union of awareness and emptiness, is also called the ground luminosity or the ground awareness. Knowing the faults of conceptual thoughts from the energy of compassion and awareness is called the luminosity of the path or the path awareness. The doctrine of the Unsurpassed Tantra is that the result is used as the path, so the pure part of the wind and mind is temporarily called the wisdom of the result. There are two types of ground luminosity and path luminosity: general and specific. In general, the union of awareness and emptiness is called the ground-based mother luminosity, and the arising of ground appearances from the ground is regarded as the path luminosity like a child. Specifically, the uninterrupted part of the energy of wisdom is the mother, and the arising of the five lights from it is like a child. The planned awareness itself is the mother, and the conceptual thoughts of the energy of compassion and awareness that arise from it are all established as children. The doctrine of the Secret Mantra Vajrayana has three aspects: ground, path, and fruit. The essence of the ground, the Sugata-garbha, is said to be present in the minds of all sentient beings from the very beginning, just as oil permeates sesame seeds. The ground is the uncompounded wisdom of awareness and emptiness, and although its nature has no increase or decrease and no change, it is called the ground when it is together with the impurities of the elements. Through discrimination and recitation, just as gold is extracted from the earth and bones are removed from flesh, the guru introduces the view of awareness and emptiness, and relying on that path, it is the path when the impurities of the elements are purified. When the impurities of the elements are completely purified, it is the fruit. Impurities are the basis for sudden delusive conceptual thoughts, the two obscurations, and their imprints. It is the nature of impermanence and untruthfulness of compounded things. The purifier of the impurities of the path is the truth of the path, the uncompounded view of awareness and emptiness, so it is uncompounded. Since the fruit is used as the path, there is no other fruit beyond the luminosity, the uncompounded wisdom of awareness and emptiness. The four obscurations are: the false conceptual thoughts that grasp all appearances as truly existent in the objects of the five sense faculties.
