In the twelve links of interdependence, ignorance is considered the root of samsara. Or, from beginningless time, the continuum of body and speech, the continuum of actions of abandoning and taking, and the continuum of mind, have existed from beginningless time, and because of these, body and speech are established, so it is permissible to say that mind is the main thing. But here, according to the Dzogchen self-tradition, at the time of death, the previous life's wind-mind ceases, and in the interval before the next life's wind-mind arises, the actual ground manifests. Although the clear light actually manifests, because it is not recognized, it is also called "unpredicted" or "ignorance." From that initial ground, a subtle wind first arises, which is neither the wind of wisdom nor the wind of karma. Then, the energy of awareness moves the wind, and the wind becomes the wind of karma. After many moments, due to the influence of the three causes and four conditions, delusion arises, and in the appearance of the ground-appearance, the sudden ego-grasping arises, thinking, "Did I come from that? Or did that come from me?" Thus, body and speech are also established, so it must be said that mind is the main thing because body and speech arise immediately due to the action of mind. In general, although samsara and nirvana have no beginning or end due to time, from the perspective of an individual being, the beginning of samsara and nirvana is established at that time. This initial ground is called the general ground of samsara and nirvana. It knows itself, the energy of wisdom and qualities is complete, it arises in the form of the three kayas of the Buddha, and it distinguishes the differences of the six characteristics. If one is liberated from this, it is the boundary of having been liberated but not having been deluded; from the beginning of the ground, before doing any liberation or delusion, it is neither having experienced liberation nor having experienced delusion; then, if the delusion is finally seized by the conditions of the path and liberated, it is both having experienced liberation and having experienced delusion; people like us are placed on the boundary of having experienced delusion but not having experienced liberation. It should be analyzed in this way. In general, the Nyingma view is that when practicing the view, one first observes and meditates on the three stages of arising, dwelling, and ceasing. During the main practice, one alternates between observation and abiding. Finally, when it merges into the cycle of day and night, there is only abiding and meditation. If one does not understand this analysis and just thinks about it casually, saying that mind is the main thing, thinking that mind alone is enough, that is not correct. In the pure Buddha-field, there is no Buddha who is only mind, but one who possesses body, speech, mind, and qualities.

It is one who possesses qualities such as virtues, like an ocean. In this place of the three realms of samsara in Mar, according to the Mahayana view, there are no sentient beings who are purely mind without body and speech. If one needs to establish a particularly suitable basis for practicing the Dharma, such as a body of leisure and endowment and a body endowed with the six elements, then the body is also important. Even if a small part of the body, such as the eye faculty or the ear faculty, is incomplete, one will not have sight or hearing of both Dharma and worldly matters. Speech is a part of the body, the place of origin of letters, and it must arise from the assembly of both the mind that wishes to express and the place of origin of letters, so it cannot arise from the mind alone. Therefore, if one does not recognize the root of samsara on top of this view that mind is primary, then saying that mind is primary is meaningless; many such reasons are given. Second, finding fault is: mainly establishing the selflessness of the person, that is, when giving instructions, saying, "In this place of the three realms of samsara, is there something chasing you from behind like a dog chasing a deer? Or is there someone leading you from the front like a fisherman leading a fish with a hook?" When asked how it is, the answer is: "There is no other agent of involuntary action like that. If you say that I myself wander in the place of samsara, then when examining what 'I' refers to, there is no truly existent 'I' other than imputing the three doors of body, speech, and mind as a whole to be 'I'." If one is to establish the antidote to clinging to a truly existent one, which is the five aggregates and so on, as many parts, and further establish between the two, with parts and without parts, then one of them cannot be called 'I', nor can the other be called 'I', so it can be determined that there is a truly existent one that can be called 'I'. That is, it is said that one must determine that the antidote to one is many, and the antidote to true establishment is non-true establishment. It is said that if one determines the self and self-grasping here, then according to the Nyingma school, one has determined the appearance to be refuted. Third, examining the three, origin, place, and destination, is: mainly establishing the selflessness of phenomena, that is, in general, from the three sections of the Great Perfection's realization of direct crossing, the whispered lineage, etc., there are statements about the mind having the three, origin, place, and destination, but here it is according to the view of non-existence. There are many ways of saying this, but this is according to how Dodrup Rinpoche said to Nyakla. That is, all phenomena can be summarized into the two, object and subject. Object, all of the three realms can be summarized into the three, origin, etc. Subject, all
