Whatever arises is introduced as the self-display of the dharmakāya, which means that all phenomena of relative truth are the display of the great dharmakāya of awareness, the ornament of great play, and the spontaneously present appearance of the ground. Therefore, the great wisdom of the natural state appears as the body, the vajra body of the victorious ones. Its own sound, such as the vowels a ā, and the consonants such as ka, are the union of space and wisdom, or its sound is known as the speech, the vajra speech of the victorious ones. What arises as mind is the vajra mind of the victorious ones. That wisdom itself appearing as the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and as the aspect of place, is pure and all-encompassing. How is it? The great wisdom pervades the minds of the six realms of beings. That itself appearing as the three doors of body, speech, and mind is the three vajras, and appearing as the place is the Akaniṣṭha, therefore it is pure and all-encompassing. Since the great wisdom pervades the dharma encompassed by the three paths of samsara, nirvana, all of samsara and nirvana are one in the expanse of wisdom. So it is said. It is also said that the instruction like the rising sun is placed openly, which means that the five faculties go out to the objects. Then what is the difference between that and ordinary people? They do not realize it that way, because there is no play of wisdom in wisdom. In the self-nature of the natural state, both generation and completion are spontaneously present as union from the beginning, so if you know that the three, appearance, sound, and awareness, are the display of deities, mantras, and dharmata, then it is okay to generate the deity or not. Padmasambhava said: The symbolic buddha is the sambhogakāya, and the meaning buddha is the dharmakāya. This dharmata awareness is manifest, so do not seek the buddha from elsewhere, lords and subjects. Likewise, guru yoga is also, the external guru appearing as a form is only the exemplary guru, the self-knowing self-awareness is the guru of meaning, the actual dharmakāya. Therefore, the most important thing is not to lose the self-nature of awareness, being inseparable from the guru. Longchen Rabjam said: Guru and self-mind are inseparable, grasping at the form body is lost. So it is said. When you are only diligent in guru yoga, you must know that gods and demons are also the display of the guru. The generation stage of appearance and existence appearing as the guru, and the mind not

It is necessary to emphasize the completion stage that is mixed with non-distraction. What is non-distracted calm abiding like? It is the samadhi that is free from the six distractions. What are the six distractions? The distraction of self-nature is the five aggregates such as eye consciousness, etc. Because they naturally look outward, they arise from samadhi. Outward distraction is when mind consciousness wanders or enters objects. Similarly, inward distraction is experiencing the taste of samadhi, as well as dullness and excitement. The distraction of signs is when, with the thought of believing in samadhi itself, one grasps and clings to signs. The distraction of negative states is when one attends with self-grasping, that is, with pride, one thinks of oneself as superior to others, or with self-grasping. The distraction of attention is when one does not separate from the mind of the Lesser Vehicle and attends to the Lesser Vehicle. Thus, there are six distractions. The complete cutting off and exclusion of these six, the complete cessation of non-distracted calm abiding, is the special calm abiding of the Great Vehicle, which is faultless calm abiding that abides inwardly, one-pointedly. Having recognized the self-nature of awareness, and not having lost the self-possession of awareness, then whatever arises of abiding and movement is meditation, is samadhi. If one does not recognize the self-nature of awareness, and the mind abides for a long time without wandering outward, and one observes and recognizes the nature of whatever movement arises, and abides without alteration, appearing to disappear, then in reality this is sealing appearance with emptiness, so neither of these two is considered meditation. The Omniscient One said: 'To place and guard whatever appearance and whatever arises on top of it, either it will become dull calm abiding, or it will become excitement.' Because awareness has not grasped its own self-possession with wisdom free from concepts, abiding depends on an object, so abiding is dependent abiding, and it remains in conditions. Because one specially observes whatever arises of good and bad appearances and thoughts, it becomes dualistic. So, if it is good, it is only included in the category of mind, but if compared with the most secret unsurpassable yoga, there is the fault of not having determined the wrong path of the road. Generally, there are three sayings: straying, losing, and erring. Here, straying and losing are from 'The Spontaneous Song of the Vajra that Removes Obstacles, the Jewel Net': 'Especially, even if there is bliss, clarity, and non-thought, it is also the path of...'
