The clinging to the thought of "is," and the clinging to merely perceiving the light of wisdom, these will appear in the mind and lead to confusion. Therefore, impure appearances, even as small as a speck of dust, have never existed, have never been. And at the very moment of appearance, it is the play of body and wisdom. Thus it is said. Like an electric lamp, how do the doors of liberation and confusion arise from the primordial, universal ground? This can be symbolized by the clear light of sleep and death. During sleep, the five senses, along with the afflicted mind, dissolve into the mind consciousness. The mind consciousness dissolves into the alaya consciousness. The alaya consciousness dissolves into non-conceptualization. It dissolves into the dharmadhatu, so that coarse and subtle clinging disappears, and the dharmata of emptiness and clarity, free from elaboration, arises. If this is recognized, confusion can be averted. In the Secret Precious Tantra, it is said: The seven aggregates dissolve into the alaya consciousness, the alaya dissolves into the dharmadhatu. At that time, the primordial, co-emergent, empty-clear, self-arising wisdom arises. Yogis should know this. Thus it is said. From that, when arising again, from the dharmadhatu arises the alaya, from that arises the alaya consciousness, from that arises the single mind consciousness, and thus dreams appear. And relying on the respective senses, wind enters the channels, and thus one awakens from sleep, and coarse grasping and grasper appear in the daytime appearance, as the Great Chariot says. This symbolizes the difference between liberation and confusion, and how the mind gradually arises from subtlety. When sentient beings die, earth, water, fire, and wind dissolve in sequence. Finally, wind dissolves into consciousness, until external breathing ceases, the coarse dissolves. Then, at the beginning of the existence of internal breathing, the sequence of the dissolution of thoughts: the outer sign is the moon, the inner sign is smoke, the stage of appearance dissolves into increase. The thirty-three thoughts of hatred cease. The outer sign is the sun, the inner sign is a firefly, the stage of increase dissolves into near attainment. The forty thoughts of desire cease. The outer sign is the appearance of the black path Rahu, the inner sign is a lamp in a vase. The near attainment of appearance dissolves into clear light. The seven thoughts of delusion cease. The subtle dissolves. The outer sign is like the dawn rising, the inner sign is like the stainless autumn sky. The fourth clear light is considered the actual basis of death, and those who recognize it remain in the clear light as they wish, and then manifest as the union body. Therefore, this symbolizes the way of liberation, and

From the state of not knowing, gradually reversing the process. Seven conceptualizations of delusion arise, and near attainment manifests. From that, forty conceptualizations of desire arise, and proliferation manifests. Then, thirty conceptualizations of hatred arise, and appearance manifests. After that, the pervasive wind gathers, causing consciousness to transfer from the path of any of the nine doors of the previous old aggregates, and it is said that the existence of the bardo is accomplished. This can symbolize the initial way of delusion. Initially, the reality of the ground or the clear light is neither realized nor deluded, so it is called the ground-sphere unpredicted, like the clear light of death. That is, when sentient beings die, at the time when the near attainment of the end of the three appearances dissolves into the clear light, the nature of that clear light that arises is clear, bright, and free from obscurations, like the clear autumn sky. At that time, the coarse and subtle conceptualizations of grasping and being grasped by the deluded mind have dissolved into the basis of the nature of reality, so they do not exist at that time. However, for ordinary people, because there is no path condition, the self-awareness of that clear light, the original wisdom, does not manifest. Although the object clear light exists, there is no subject, so who can recognize it? In this way, the aspect of not being recognized is called the state of mindlessness, darkness, or fainting. The nature of the clear light itself is not like a black, unpredicted, fainting state. It is said. The three kinds of ignorance are: the nature of the initial general ground, the great equality, the part that does not recognize, if one does not recognize one's own nature, then the aspect of the possibility of delusion arising has not ceased, that is called the ignorance of the single self-nature of the cause, because it has not moved from the great equality of the ground, so there is no way to establish the beginning for this. As the Root Tantra says: "Although without beginning, it possesses an end." After that, the primordial purity, the great emptiness, opens the door of manifestation, the sound of the unceasing manifestation of spontaneously present clear light, with the wisdom wind that activates the compassion's potential as its mount, from the aspect of six manifestations, two doors, and eight manifestations, it is called the spontaneously present precious appearance, that is, when the manifestation of the great wisdom of the ground manifests itself, although there is no delusion in the nature of both the ground and the ground appearance, because of the way in which the previous ignorance of the single self-nature of the cause exists without being abandoned, therefore, the aspect of the self-nature clear light is not recognized as self-awareness.
