Although it is said in the scriptures that the wisdom of individual discernment, which pervades the part of consciousness, understands the characteristics of the general and the specific, and that the wisdom of the three modes of entry serves as the boundary of hearing, contemplation, and meditation, it is such wisdom that makes the luminosity of meaning manifest. However, it is said in the general scriptures that consciousness, which is similar to mind, can see the truth of reality. In short, when the luminosity of the three appearances arises, the cause of arising is the primordial nature of reality. If, after arising, there are no eight consciousnesses to recognize it, then who would it be? It is self-arisen wisdom. Because by the power of experiencing suchness without the characteristics of grasping and being grasped, in the subsequent attainment, there is no doubt that one can cut off superimpositions on the inconceivable meaning of suchness. At that time, the mind of the experiencer and the luminosity experienced are inseparable, and the experience of the natural luminosity, free from extremes and center, arises. That is the wisdom that has become the self-resonance of the primordial luminosity. It is not the wisdom of the wheel of consciousness. For if there is no consciousness, where would there be co-emergent mental wisdom corresponding to it? There is none. The mental wisdom of the wheel of consciousness must arise from the four conditions, so it is fabricated, and how could it be self-arisen? There are no four conditions here. There is no condition of the object of focus, no immediate condition that has become one's own close-taking condition, no causal condition such as equal division, and no agent-dominant condition. Since there is no mind that is different from the nature of reality, there is no objective condition. Since there is none of that, there are no causal conditions, etc. Although it may be possible to have such if one focuses on a slight characteristic of the difference between object and subject, there is no term for the four conditions where there is no focus at all. Therefore, although it is non-dual with the self-arisen wisdom of the ground, from the aspect of appearance, the term "experience" is applied to the clarity of self-light as it is in the ground, but there is no substantial difference between the experienced and the experiencer. So, if luminosity itself has self-sounding wisdom that is self-arisen, why don't ordinary beings who have not strived on the path recognize luminosity from such an aspect without effort? They do not recognize it. Although the ground's self-arisen wisdom, the self-sounding luminosity, has the nature of being able to arise from the beginning, because it is suppressed by the thick obscuration of delusion, at the time when it abides on the ground,

Due to the power of obscuration, the clear light is not seen, therefore, one becomes like fainting, in a state of unconsciousness, not knowing anything, not remembering anything. Now, this slightly clear, slightly aware thing on the mind is the clarity of the innate mind that pervades the six consciousnesses, specifically on the mind. In this state, practitioners cultivate emptiness and so on through the mind alone. Therefore, the so-called subtle mind refers to this. This is not the actual innate mind, because it is a state defiled by discursive thoughts. Like this, in the eye consciousness, there is also slight clarity, defiled by blue, yellow, and so on. The five sense consciousnesses should also have this. If the subtle mind, slightly clear, non-conceptual, sees itself as empty, then it is said that the innate mind cultivating emptiness is very powerful, that is the practice of the Nyingma school. Whether it is refuting or establishing conceptualization, it does not go beyond conceptual thought. Non-conceptual wisdom is neither refuting nor establishing conceptualization, because it does not conceptualize anything. Some say: Non-conceptual wisdom is refuting conceptualization, because it is free from elaboration. If one thinks that this is the conceptualization of refuting elaboration, and the conceptual thought of establishing freedom from elaboration, then when all elaborations are refuted, how can one cling to freedom from elaboration? If there is still clinging, it means that elaboration has not been refuted, so it is not freedom from elaboration. Realizing the emptiness of the two truths being inseparable, possessing all supreme aspects, the object of individual self-cognition is the ultimate Dharmadhatu and emptiness. When that is realized, although distinguished by terms such as the object of realization being Dharmadhatu and the agent of realization being wisdom, in reality there is not the slightest difference. The clear and knowing nature of conceptualization is the characteristic of consciousness. Non-conceptual, the self-luminous nature of individually knowing the reality, is the characteristic of wisdom. The nature of consciousness is wisdom. The ultimate wisdom that completely purifies the two obscurations along with their habitual tendencies is the characteristic of Buddhahood. Regarding that wisdom, from the perspective of observing the nature of phenomena, it is called the wisdom of knowing suchness (Tibetan: ཇི་ལྟ་བ་མཁྱེན་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས།, Sanskrit: yathāvad-jñāna, Romanization: yathāvad-jñāna, Meaning: wisdom of knowing suchness); from the perspective of observing all phenomena, it is called the wisdom of knowing all that exists (Tibetan: ཇི་སྙེད་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས།, Sanskrit: yāvatā-jñāna, Romanization: yāvatā-jñāna, Meaning: wisdom of knowing all that exists), named from different aspects. Its essence is the single omniscient wisdom, without any difference. It is the wisdom that sees the ultimate reality of the two truths being inseparable. Therefore, transcending the collection of consciousness.
