When gathering food, when the time of life is done, etc., recite, "O venerable Padmasambhava, please have mercy." Recognize the Lama as the embodiment of all refuges, abandon the evil thought of fault-finding, and through remembering the qualities, generate immeasurable faith and devotion to the point of tears. Due to this, the Lama, with great compassion, especially cares for oneself. With a smiling face and eyes moving with affection, a warm ray of light radiates from the heart, and as soon as it touches the heart of oneself visualized as Vajrayogini, one's body, speech, and mind become a red sphere the size of a pea. That sphere, with a sound, like a spark disappearing, dissolves into the Lama's heart, and the Lama also abides in the state of the unobservable, free from elaboration, Dharmakaya. When rising from that state, like a fish leaping from a clear lake, the basis, body, and the arrangement of the pure land, as before, all appearances and existences are clear as the play of the Lama. May this pure white virtue and essence of merit be dedicated to all sentient beings without limit. May I realize the meaning of the profound secret Vajrayana and attain the state of the Lama, the Lord of the Family. And "Glorious root Lama, precious one," etc., may the Lama's blessings enter my mind. And recite the aspiration prayer of the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain, etc. Such Lama Yoga, when walking, meditate on the Lama in the sky on the right shoulder. That is the support for circumambulation. When sitting, meditate on the Lama in the sky at the crown of the head. That is the support for prayer. When eating and drinking, meditate on the Lama in the center of the throat. That is the place to offer the essence of whatever is eaten and drunk. When sleeping, meditate on the Lama in the heart. That is the instruction for dreams to appear as clear light. At the time of death, mix the mind and wisdom of the Lama without separation and abide in it. That is the king of all transferences. In short, at all times and in all circumstances, wherever one is, the place is the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain, the palace of Padmasambhava's light, appearances and existences are the Mandala of the Lama, sounds are the nature of speech, and thoughts and discriminations are the play of wisdom. One must train in the Yoga of these three essentials. If one does so, all appearances will appear as deities and Lamas, and all actions will

This will transform. Je Milarepa said, "When I go, I take appearances as the path. This is the way of self-liberation of the six aggregates. When I stay, I stay in the natural, uncorrected state. This is the way of staying with the essential meaning. When I eat, I eat the food of emptiness. This is the way of eating by abandoning grasping and clinging. When I drink, I drink the water of mindfulness and awareness. This is the way of drinking without interruption." Furthermore, Drukpa Rinpoche said, "When staying, you need the view of primordial purity and transparency. When going, you need the instruction of taking appearances as the path. When sleeping, you need the essential instruction of dream luminosity." And so on. The signs that blessings have entered your own mind-stream through such practice are: the best is that appearances and existence arise as the Dharmakaya; the intermediate is that appearances and existence arise as the Guru; the worst is that you turn your mind away from samsara and develop the perception of seeing the Guru as the actual Buddha. Fifth, showing the benefits of practicing in this way: From the tantras: "Whoever, in millions of kalpas, meditates on hundreds of thousands of deity forms, remembering the Guru for a moment is supreme." Also, from the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Tantra: "Whoever meditates on the Guru, the deity of aspiration, at the crown of their head, with that, thousands of Buddha mandalas, placed in the palm of their hand, circumambulate three thousand worlds. If they dissolve it into their heart a thousand times, they will not obtain hundreds of thousands of wealth and rain. Therefore, by constantly remembering, as the ornament of the wheel at the crown of the head, contemplate the glorious Guru." Also, from the Gongdü: "Whoever, in hundreds of thousands of kalpas, meditates on hundreds of thousands of deity forms, meditating on the single Guru is supreme." Also, from the Damtsik Köpai Gyü (Tantra of Arranging Samaya): "A deity endowed with marks and signs, meditating for hundreds of thousands of kalpas, remembering the Guru for a moment is supreme. Accomplishing approach and recitation millions of times, supplicating the Guru once is supreme." Also, from the Ati Köpa: "That kind Guru, at the crown of the head or in the center of the heart, or whichever is meditated upon in the palm of the hand, even the accomplishments of a thousand Buddhas, that person will attain." Also, as Je Götsangpa said, "When meditating on Guru Yoga, faults are exhausted and qualities are perfected." And, "Although there are many generation stage practices, there is nothing superior to meditating on the Guru. Although there are many completion stage practices, there is nothing superior to abandoning all thoughts." From the tantras: "Whoever
