May those not yet born be born. May those born not decline, but rise higher and higher. Thus, dedicate and make aspirations. Second, regarding the practice of aspiration, the four immeasurables are explained. As stated in 'Mindfulness, the Resting Place': On the ground of loving-kindness, spread the flowers of compassion. Provide the cool shade of joy, with the pure water of equanimity. For the benefit of beings, tame your own mind. As it is said. Focusing on sentient beings who lack happiness, the wish that they possess happiness is loving-kindness. Focusing on sentient beings tormented by suffering, the wish that they be free from suffering is compassion. Focusing on sentient beings who are without suffering and possess happiness, the wish not to be separated from it is joy. Focusing on those with attachment and aversion, the wish that they be free from the attachment and aversion that cause happiness and suffering, near and far, is equanimity. In short, the four immeasurables are distinguished through the four doors of wishing to have, wishing to be separated, wishing not to be separated, and wishing to be at peace. The benefits of meditating in this way are as follows: The Great Omniscient One said: Through loving-kindness, there is no anger and enjoyment is complete; the mirror-like wisdom will be quickly attained. And, through compassion, there is no attachment and the Dharmakaya is attained; the wisdom of individual self-awareness is manifested. And, through joy, there is no jealousy and the Nirmanakaya is attained; the supreme accomplishing wisdom will be attained. And, through equanimity, there is no pride, no ignorance, the nature of reality; the wisdom of equality, the Dharmadhatu, is manifested. Thus it is said. Furthermore, the great prince Shantideva said: If one does not exchange one's own happiness for the suffering of others, one will not attain Buddhahood, and there will be no happiness even in samsara. As it is said. The meaning of 'exchanging self and others' is mainly to exchange the two mindsets of cherishing oneself and abandoning others, and to generate the mindset of cherishing others as oneself and abandoning oneself as others. Again, as it says: Give yourself to others, and take others as yourself. Chekawa said: Practice giving and taking alternately, and practice sending them on the wind. Lord Atisha said: Since the faults of attachment and aversion are likely to arise, cultivate the thought of exchanging self and others. Also, give all happiness to others, and all suffering

"Obtain the corresponding measure." Also, Chennga said, "Worldly people cherish themselves more than others, but we must cherish others more than ourselves." Also, Prince Asanga said, "All suffering arises from the desire for one's own happiness, and the perfect Buddha arises from the mind of benefiting others. Therefore, exchanging one's own happiness for the suffering of others is the practice of a Bodhisattva." Also, because benefiting others is the root, practice exchanging self and others. Recognize self-grasping as the enemy, and abandon other enemies to be subdued." Also, the great Bodhisattva Shantideva said, "Whatever harm there is in the world, and whatever fear and suffering there is, all arise from clinging to self, what can that great demon do to me?" Also, "For unruly sentient beings, like the sky, it is impossible to completely destroy them. If you destroy this one mind of anger, it is like destroying all enemies. To cover this earth with leather, how much leather would be enough? Just with a piece of leather the size of a shoe sole, it is like covering the entire earth." That's what was said. Third, the precepts for entering, explaining the six paramitas, that is, from the ten doors of entering for the wise, it is said: "Generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom are the six paramitas." Thus, generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, and meditation are the five paramitas of the method of practice, and wisdom is the accumulation of wisdom, which is the sixth paramita. As it is said in the Jewel Treasury of Qualities: "The first five are the accumulation of supreme merit, the last one is the great accumulation of wisdom, without relying on these two, there is no possibility of becoming a Buddha." First, the paramita of generosity has three types: material generosity, Dharma generosity, and fearlessness protection generosity. Among them, material generosity has three types: giving, great giving, and extreme giving. In Resting the Mind Itself, it says: "Food, clothing, horses, carts, elephants, etc., giving immeasurable amounts of all necessities, sons and daughters, etc., are great giving, heads and eyes, etc., are extreme giving." Also, in the Jewel Treasury of Qualities, it says: "Material generosity also has three aspects, giving, great giving, and extreme giving. Giving is called food, clothing, carts, and, elephants and lands are given to others.
