Then, in the heart of the clearly visualized guru, meditate on the wisdom being (Yéshé Sèmpé, Jñānasattva). In the heart of that, meditate on the samadhi being (Tingngezin Sèmpé, Samādhisattva), from which meditate on a bindu the size of a mustard seed. Within that, as before, meditate on a mandala of bindus, a mandala of letters, or a mandala of hand symbols, whichever you prefer. Finally, as before, meditate until you have meditated on the mandala with its support and supported within the bindu. Third, visualize yourself as the yidam deity, and on the vajra jewel at the crown of the head, meditate on a bindu the size of a mustard seed. Within that, meditate on a mandala of bindus, letters, or hand symbols, whichever you prefer. Finally, as before, meditate on the wheel of the mandala with its support and supported. It is sufficient to meditate on one of the three: the tip at the top, the tip at the bottom, or the tip at the heart. It is not necessary for one person to meditate on all three. Through familiarizing yourself with this method, gaining clear appearance of the wheel of the mandala with its support and supported within the tiny bindu is the culmination of single-pointed mindfulness. Such a person, even if they do not meditate on the completion stage in this life, will have the opportunity to meditate on the completion stage in a future life, and will undoubtedly attain supreme accomplishment. 2-413 Part Two: Instructions on Mahamudra The second part, instructions on Mahamudra, has two sections: preliminaries and the main practice. First, as described in the context of the generation stage, or visualize the guru in front of you. In the guru's heart, on a moon cushion, visualize a white A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:无), the essence of bodhicitta, and generate strong devotion. Second, the main practice. First, establish settling the mind, relying on an external object of focus: Place an object of focus, such as a black piece of wood, in front of you. Look at it with your eyes and concentrate your mind, keeping a certain distance. At that time, if dullness and discursive thoughts arise, interrupt them as usual. Or, at a certain distance, do not focus on the object of focus, but rest without thought. Meditate on these methods alternately. Or, the second object of focus: Place a small stone slab in front of you, on which you have drawn a red earth swastika Focus your eyes and mind on it, keeping the swastika steady and unmoving. Then, loosen your awareness and slightly relax your eyes, and visualize the swastika spinning around and around. Or, the third object of focus: Place a pile of barley in front of you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or, build a wheel like a mandala (Tibetan: སྤ་ར་, meaning: mandala) with pebbles. At a slightly distant place, build another mandala as before, and then build a small bridge between them with something like thatch. Then, focus your mind and eyes on the opening of the mandala in front of you, circumambulating it about seven times. After that, focus your mind and eyes on the bridge, and also circumambulate the opening of the rear mandala about seven times. Then, cross the bridge again, circumambulate the opening of the inner mandala, and maintain focus. Regarding the five methods of placing the mind on internal objects of focus: First, focusing on a bindu: Visualize a black or blue bindu at your navel, focus on it, and place it in a state of no object of focus. Second focus: Imagine yourself in the middle of empty space, and then gradually imagine your body dissolving from the edges, until the body completely disappears, placing it in a state of no object of focus. Third focus: Imagine a black head appearing on your right and a black head appearing on your left. These two heads run from the left and right, and imagine them fighting in front of you. Do this many times, maintaining focus, and finally place it in a state of no object of focus. Fourth focus: Focus your mind on the eastern sky, and then focus on the more eastern sky, and the even more eastern sky, and so on, until the eastern sky is boundless. Similarly, focus your mind on the boundless sky in all ten directions, and finally place it in a state of no object of focus. Fifth focus: Let your mind gradually follow the path you have walked before, reaching any place you have been. After reaching that place, gradually return along the path to the cushion where you are sitting. Do this repeatedly, and finally relax and place it in a state of no object of focus. Like this, relying on these focused concentrations, when various states arise in the mind, then abide effortlessly in a non-conceptual manner: neither deliberately contracting nor deliberately relaxing, but naturally relaxing. Then, when any external objects such as forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile sensations are perceived, for example, when the eyes see a form, do not negate its appearance, nor analyze it, but simply relax and abide in the present moment. Then, do not only focus on external objects, but whatever arises in the mind, such as happiness, suffering, feelings, etc., do not react to these appearances. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
