Therefore, for anyone, one must be without deceit and have superior intention, these four should be upheld. The four are: deceiving the objects of veneration such as lamas, khenpos, vajra brothers, etc., with a deceptive mind. If not prevented by an antidote, one day and one night passing will cause it to be lost. One should not regret, but rather rejoice in the great virtuous deeds of others. However, if regret arises first, and one speaks badly, saying that there is a virtue greater than this, causing others to regret, and if one makes verses of blame, provoked by anger, towards a Bodhisattva who has generated the mind of enlightenment, and if one makes deceitful deceptions without compassion towards sentient beings. If not prevented by an antidote, one day and one night passing is a cause of falling, so it should be abandoned. Therefore, after these four minds arise in oneself, whether the object knows it or not, it will be lost. There are five dharmas to rely on for this: relying on not abandoning sentient beings is the method of not losing the mind of enlightenment; remembering the benefits of generating the mind is the method of not degenerating the mind; diligently accumulating the two accumulations is the method of increasing the power of this mind; repeatedly practicing is the method of increasing this mind; adopting and abandoning the eight black and white dharmas is the method of not forgetting this mind. The four white dharmas are: knowingly not lying, guiding beings to common virtue and the Mahayana, generating the perception of a teacher for a Bodhisattva who has generated the mind of enlightenment and praising their qualities, and for any sentient being, one must be without deceit and have superior intention, these four should be upheld. Secondly, there are three trainings for entering: the training in higher discipline, the training in higher concentration, and the training in higher wisdom. Among these, the so-called higher refers to surpassing the asceticism of non-Buddhists, and the worldly paths of saving from fear, good wishes, etc., the discipline that does not exceed the peak of existence, the virtue arising from vows, being able to abandon the afflictions and non-virtuous minds that bind one to samsara, is higher discipline. Surpassing the concentration that does not exceed the nine grounds of the three realms, without outflows and without conceptualization.
