Lie down and rest. If sickness arises in the body, know that it is the path, and stop divination and rituals. If demonic illusions appear, do not be afraid, and replace the sacred tree and sacred stone. If attachment to the body arises, do not be stingy, and offer the body and life as food. Regarding the wisdom of "carrying" and "cutting": Cut off external and internal arrogance, and also cut off attachment to one's own good meditation experiences—bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality. This is what is called cutting. It is divided into two types: Cutting on the path, and cutting on oneself. First, cutting on the path means: Even if the experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality and samadhi have not arisen, it is the mind's intelligence. It is a good support, an antidote, and something that is relied upon. This is the obscuration of knowledge. One cannot attain Buddhahood without separating from the two obscurations. If emptiness is not exhausted, one cannot see the true meaning. If the antidote is not destroyed, one cannot obtain the fruit. Therefore, destroy attachment to experience, and cut off the support of the antidote. Resolve not to meditate, let awareness be naked, and abide in a state of no support and no companion. Cutting on oneself means: If you feel bliss, look at the experiencer of bliss; if you feel clarity, look at the experiencer of clarity; if you feel emptiness, look at the experiencer of emptiness. By looking at all knowers and awareness holders, their respective natures are empty, disappearing without a trace, thereby freeing oneself from attachment to experience, cutting off attachment to appearances, stopping the flow of the mind, and reaching a state of exhaustion of Dharma and exhaustion of intellect. The three methods of cutting are: cutting off arrogance, conceptual thought, and clinging. First, cutting in the mind means: As soon as arrogance of the three appearances arises, cut it off immediately. If you cannot cut it off, then cut off the gradual conceptual thoughts that arise from the gross three appearances that have grown from it. If you cannot cut it off, then cut off the attachment and clinging to the three appearances that are even stronger than it. The three times of cutting are: the superior faculty cuts at the base, the intermediate faculty cuts on the path, and the inferior faculty cuts by pursuing signs like shooting an arrow. The superior faculty cutting at the base means: No matter what conceptual thought of the three appearances arises, one does not cling to it as one's own, because one understands the way one's own bodhicitta manifests, it naturally liberates, thereby cutting at the base. The intermediate faculty cutting on the path means: No matter what realization of the three appearances arises, cut it off directly and immediately. The method of cutting has been explained above. The inferior faculty cutting by pursuing signs means: repeatedly observe the arrogance and conceptual thought of the three appearances, and cut off the root of the conceptual thought, thereby cutting off the conceptual thought.

Initially, the place of arising is empty; in the middle, the place of dwelling is empty; finally, the place of going is empty; the essence is empty. Severing conceptual thoughts that are without foundation or root. Second is generation: Thus, by severing conceptual thoughts or pride, non-conceptual thought that is separate from mind is generated. By generating, the conceptual thought of what is grasped is cut off, and the meaning of selflessness is realized, emptiness is generated in the continuum. By severing the internal clinging conceptual thought, non-conceptual thought is generated in the continuum. By severing the attachment to secret experiences, realization that is separate from intellect is generated. Therefore, it is called generation. Third is non-duality: By severing the external coarse conceptual thought of what is grasped, the understanding of emptiness, which is selflessness, is generated. Although selflessness is realized, the coarse appearance of what is grasped has not ceased, these two, by realizing non-duality, the realization like illusion is generated. By severing the internal clinging conceptual thought, non-conceptual thought is generated in the continuum. Both conceptual and non-conceptual thoughts are known as the ways in which mind appears. In the nature of mind, by realizing that conceptual and non-conceptual thoughts are non-dual, the realization like water and waves is generated. By severing the attachment to secret experiences, the meaning that is separate from intellect is generated in the continuum. Although the clarity of experience has not ceased, because the attachment to experience is cut off, experience and emptiness become non-dual, the realization like sky and rainbow is generated. These two are called severing, generating, and non-duality. That is to say, for those who sever attachment, it is thought that all attachment is exhausted. By experiencing such meaning, view can overcome obstacles, the fire of realization blazes. Meditation can overcome intellect, the experience of non-conceptuality arises. Action can overcome objects, various appearances are transformed into the path. The pride of intellect is cut off, the attachment to experience is cut off, the imputation of view is cut off, experience becomes better and better, intellect becomes more and more comfortable, miracles become smaller and smaller, sickness becomes less and less, conceptual thought becomes smaller and smaller, even if mind is sought, it cannot be found, even if gods and demons are summoned, they will not come, all fear and shyness are abandoned. The instructions on severing, generating, and non-duality, the instructions of the supreme lord are complete. Homage to the supreme lamas! May the Vajra Dakinis forgive! Sixth general meaning, regarding these instructions on the Prajnaparamita Chöd, by the instructions on the three sets of six, the pride of intellect is cut off.
