With the immeasurable sound of musical instruments such as bells, they proceeded to welcome the holy one. At that time, a rainbow tent was erected in the sky, and a rain of divine flowers fell, showing the people of Dingri (present-day Dingri County, Tibet) a vision without day or night. Then, the great disciples and all the men and women of Dingri (present-day Dingri County, Tibet) offered vast gatherings and offerings, and for several days, they prayed and made strong aspirations. Afterwards, the people of Dingri (present-day Dingri County, Tibet) wanted to cremate the precious remains of the holy one, but everyone disagreed. Some said: The cremation should take place in the holy one's own sleeping quarters. Similarly, because everyone disagreed, Lama Guṇaśrīla, showing the appearance of the holy one, said: If you eat my flesh, it will transform into the excellence of the future, but the people of Dingri (present-day Dingri County, Tibet) do not have the merit, so it will not work. The remains should be cremated on the plain of Lhatö, at the place where the image was burned before, he said and prophesied. The people of Dingri (present-day Dingri County, Tibet) began to try to eat the flesh of the holy one, but no one dared to insert a knife into the remains. At that time, the holy one himself went to Oddiyana in the west, saying: My physical body is now abandoned in Dingri (present-day Dingri County, Tibet). Then, three yogis who had attained miraculous powers from the Oddiyana Dakini realm arrived to invite the holy one's remains, but were stopped by Lama Dzongpa. There, to cremate the remains, they built a charnel house with eighteen pillars, each wall being five fathoms long. Instead of building with ordinary wood, they built a great wall with various precious materials such as sandalwood, silk, medicinal butter, brown sugar, rock candy, gold, silver, pearls, etc. They wanted to invite the remains, but because they were too precious, none of the great disciples dared to touch them, so they remained there. On the evening of the sixteenth day of the twelfth month, the dakinis invited the remains into the charnel house. There, one hundred and eight mandalas were built, but the Kunrig root mandala did not appear, so the dakinis built emanated mandalas. Afterwards, no one dared to ignite the fire, the dakinis abiding in the Dharmadhatu, with the fire of wisdom, and also from the སྐྱེས་བུ་ཆེན་པོའི་མཚན་དཔལ་གྱི་བེའུ། (kye bu chen po'i mtshan dpal gyi be'u,seed of the marks and glory of the great being) of the holy one's own heart, fire arose at the same time.

The fire blazed fiercely. At that time, the earth shook, and a rain of flowers fell from the sky. From within the rainbow light of the sky, countless hosts of heroes and dakinis offered various divine offerings, which everyone witnessed, and many wondrous signs appeared. Also, at that time, three yogis from Ü-Tsang (དབུས།, present-day Lhasa area) set out, because they had heard that Dingri (དིང་རི་, present-day Dingri County) was very famous, so they went to pay homage. When they reached the foot of Dingri Namar (སྣ་མར་) Mountain, they saw many people from Langkhor (གླང་འཁོར) gathered there. In front of the three of them, an unclothed, bare, red-eyed Acharya appeared. So they asked, "Lama Acharya, what is the name of this monastery?" He replied, "It is called Dingri Langkhor." They further asked, "What is that huge smoke surrounded by rainbow light over there?" The Acharya replied, "An Acharya has passed away, and his body is being cremated. You people from Ü-Tsang have come from afar and must be tired, go over there, and there will be food and drink." After saying that, he disappeared without a trace. The three of them wondered, "What did that person mean by what he said?" When they went up, they heard people saying, "The Holy One has passed away," and they were cremating the body. So the three of them thought, "That person must have been an emanation," and they began to pray. Without others seeing, the three of them met the previous Acharya in the auspicious temple. The Acharya gave them teachings and blessings, and all three realized emptiness, lost their attachment to worldly phenomena, and it is said that they became three self-liberated yogis. Also, at that time, initially in the place of Sanglung (ཟངས་ལུང་), Master Tsenpo Dharma Bodhi (དྷརྨ་བོ་དྷི་) was meditating when three women appeared. They said, "In the glorious Dingri above the rising sun, the Holy Dampa Sangye (དམ་པ་སངས་རྒྱས) has departed to the pure land of the dakas, Lama, may you abide in bliss." Thereupon, he attained the accomplishment of swift feet, and he covered the distance of two months in one day. When he arrived, Dampa Rinpoche had already passed away, and they were cremating the body. The Lama cried with intense grief, and from within the flames burning the body, the right foot stretched out, with an eight-spoked wheel on the sole. He placed his crown to the sole of the foot and prayed intensely, at which point a relic fell from his heart into his lap. When he prayed to the relic, the relic transformed into the body of Dampa Rinpoche, the size of a bean, but with all limbs and features complete.
