Rise to greet him, do things according to his wishes, offer maṇḍalas, and perform all other services. Some scholars of the past and present believe that actually not prostrating is a special case of serving a guru who has received the grace of Vajrayāna. 1-506 This is unreasonable. Because in the same scripture, in the chapter on 'receiving empowerment', it is clearly stated that even the Buddhas prostrate to the guru, let alone ordinary people? Moreover, 'stay away from disrespect and impurity', before asking the guru for teachings, it has already been explained how to do it, and then it is said to examine the relationship between the guru and the disciple. Also, In the same scripture, after only taking common refuge, these are said next, which will be mentioned later, so it can be well proved. Otherwise, arguing with 'householder' etc., this scripture should be explained in the manner of debate after all other services. Similarly, in the 'Five Orders' by the noble Nāgārjuna: 'When you see the guru in the sangha, you should turn your back to him. Then go alone to prostrate. Like this, disciples who have become bad and inferior to themselves and others, even if they are their own sons, should be completely abandoned as if they were other people's sons. Even if they are born from the royal or noble caste, they should never be placed close because of intimacy.' Ḍombipa said: 'Even if it is innate siddhi, whichever disciple has attained accomplishment, if he is arrogant and does not prostrate to the guru, violates the guru's teachings, 1-507 In an instant, he will fall into Avīci hell.' Guru Buddha Jñānapāda and Mañjuśrīmitra told many such stories, therefore, for the guru who has received the grace of Vajrayāna, prostrating until attaining enlightenment is the vow of wisdom, which is explained in the immaculate precious tantras. However, Vimalamitra and the Hevajra Tantra Commentary have slightly different explanations of this guru's view, because the different tantras and the different interpreters have different ways of interpreting, so one view cannot be used to negate another. Examining the object and subject of service, as well as its rationality, and relying on it. The third general meaning is about examining the object and subject of service, as well as its rationality, and showing it, divided into two parts: examining the rationality of the characteristics and the actual characteristics. First, The rationality of examining the characteristics is: serving like this --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shouldn't one examine the relationship between the guru (teacher) and the disciple before respectfully relying on and taking a guru? If you think one should examine before taking, then, as it is said in the scriptures: 'The guru and the disciple, similarly, all vows are broken, the hero should first, examine the guru-disciple relationship.' Therefore, one should examine well and carefully. As it is said in the Vajramala Tantra: 'Just as examining jewels, gold is examined by burning and cutting. Similarly, the disciple should also, be examined for twelve years.' As it is said in the scriptures, it is best to examine through clairvoyance, intermediate through wisdom, and at the very least through questions and answers. So, what is a 'hero'? A hero refers to both the one who receives the blessings of Vajrayana and the one who gives the blessings. Before receiving the teachings of Kalachakra Vajrayana, one should first carefully observe whether each possesses the qualities, and examine whether it is appropriate to establish a guru-disciple relationship. If one hastily establishes a relationship without examination, then teaching the secret teachings to someone who is not a suitable vessel, both the guru and the disciple will be unable to keep the vows and commitments they have made, and both will break their vows. Therefore, examination is necessary. During the examination, if it is found that the other person does not possess the qualities, then one should temporarily not teach the Vajrayana teachings. As it is said in the Explanatory Tantra, Vajramala: 'Just as the milk of a lion, should not be placed in an earthen vessel. Similarly, the tantra of the great yogi, should not be given to those who are not vessels.' This is emphasized with an example. Nowadays, like a dog meeting a lung, they neither explain nor listen to the profound meaning of Vajrayana, and without even examining it slightly, they begin to practice without any hindrance, which is not well thought out. Second, regarding the actual meaning of qualities, there are two types: common qualities and special qualities. First, common qualities are also divided into two types: explaining from a negative perspective and explaining from a positive perspective. First, explaining from a negative perspective: 'A wise disciple should not, have a guru who lacks compassion, is angry and malicious, arrogant and attached, unrestrained, and conceited.' First, explaining in relation to the guru: A disciple who is wise, who has intelligence, should not rely on a guru who possesses the above-mentioned faults. So, what kind of guru should one not rely on? It is one who lacks compassion, who harbors malice towards all beings, who has no desire to liberate beings from suffering and its causes; anger, which refers to immediately harming beings with intense hatred; malicious, which refers to anger... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
