Analogy should be applied to all knowledge. However, one should avoid going to extremes, like those who are unrestrained in their speech and talk endlessly. For example, one should not endlessly extrapolate the imputed imputation of a pot's imputed nature, its dependent nature, and its thoroughly established nature, but rather apply these three characteristics universally to all established dharmas. These three characteristics are established as the three aspects of emptiness. As the venerable Maitreya Bodhisattva said in the Ornament of the Sutras, the imputed dharma is called the emptiness of non-existence, because the imputed dharma, which is the basis of emptiness, does not exist in either of the two truths, and because it is not established by its own nature, it is the emptiness of non-existence. The dependent nature, although it does not exist in the ultimate truth, exists in the nature of the conventional truth, so it is the emptiness of existence. The thoroughly established nature exists by its own nature, and because it is empty of both the imputed and dependent natures, it is the emptiness of self-nature. Furthermore, in the Madhyamaka school that speaks of the absence of self-nature, it is held that, like a sprout, anything can hold a conventional truth nature and an ultimate truth emptiness nature. If this is the case, then the pervasiveness of "whatever is a dharma is emptiness" is also uncertain, because if whatever is a dharma is necessarily the ultimate truth, then it would necessarily lead to an absurd conclusion. In this school, the pervasiveness of "whatever is a dharma is emptiness" is certain, so the statement "all dharmas are emptiness" is very appropriate in this school. Regarding the establishment of the three aspects of emptiness, the Five Hundred Prajnaparamita Sutra says: "Subhuti, what is the emptiness samadhi of form?" Subhuti replied: "Subhuti, the emptiness of form without substance, and the emptiness of form with substance, and the one-pointedness of mind focused on the emptiness of self-nature, this is the emptiness samadhi. The Bodhisattva should thus fully know the emptiness samadhi of form." Regarding the meaning of the statements "exists" and "does not exist" in the sutras, the noble Asanga and the master Vasubandhu said: This is to guide various different

Because things appear to sentient beings in a certain way, but in reality they are not like that, that is why it is said to be "non-existent." Because for each ignorant sentient being, it appears in that way in the confused appearance, that is why it is intended to say "existent." Furthermore, it is easy to understand that non-things are without inherent existence, but if one wonders how things are without inherent existence? Future things do not have their own power because they have not yet arisen. Past things, in terms of worldly convention, although there was a time when they existed in the past, they have now disappeared, so things themselves do not exist. Present things are impermanent from moment to moment, and there is no opportunity to stay even for a moment, so they never stay in their own things. Moreover, things do not actually exist as the mind perceives them, so it is believed that things are without inherent existence. Expanding from the three natures, when explaining dependent origination, it is divided into two types: a brief indication of the transitional method and a detailed explanation of the differences of dependent origination. The first is: Since this is the case, from the perspective of the three natures, what is dependent origination? What is not dependent origination? The two, the completely imputed and the other-powered, from the tone of expressing "is dependent origination," implies that the thoroughly established is not dependent origination. If this is the case, then how are the meanings of those statements that say that the thoroughly established is dependent origination related? Although the thoroughly established is not the actual dependent origination of the conventional truth, it is considered to be the dependent origination of the ultimate truth, or from another perspective, that is from the perspective of the mind of the yogi. The yogi initially did not realize the thoroughly established suchness, and through cultivating the path, realized that suchness, at that time, the thoroughly established appears as if it had never appeared before, newly produced, therefore, considering that in such an appearance, it appears as a manifestation of causes and conditions. There are two types of dependent origination, one is from the perspective of what is produced and what produces, and the other is from the perspective of what is established and what establishes. Among the two dependent originations, the first is the other-powered and the two
