When you are slightly distracted, it is nothing at all, repeatedly meditate on that state of being unidentifiable. For this, the Lama needs to give introduction according to how your own experience arises. However, the key to taking the meaning of the introduction into practice is: when the mind abides, there is no identification whatsoever, and self-appearance is clear and vivid, it can appear in this way continuously. When the mind moves, the movement itself is the essence, the emptiness of the movement of objects, the appearance of movement is uninterrupted, but there is no identification whatsoever. Even when the appearance of objects arises in various ways, from the moment the appearance is uninterrupted and clearly arises, it is unidentifiable, in this way, the appearance of objects, thoughts, and the nature of the abiding mind are not established as three separate entities, there is no distinction. Nor are they established as one, everything is the emptiness of objects. This is the meaning of the Great Mother Prajnaparamita. It is the intention of the Buddhas of the three times. Although many terms such as emptiness, freedom from elaboration, freedom from expression, and ultimate truth have been coined, in reality it is just this one moment of the mind, and simply by recognizing that, whatever arises, whether abiding or moving, leave it without alteration, remain in equanimity. Second, cutting the four maras in the sphere of reality, of the four, the first is cutting the mara with a basis in the sphere of reality: relying on objects of attachment and aversion such as enemies and friends, forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile objects, in order to generate thoughts and clinging, this is called the mara with a basis. The meaning of "with a basis" is relying on external objects such as forms. The way to cut it is: for example, when remembering an enemy, gradually anger arises, when feeling angry, do not be controlled by it, at that very moment, say Phat! Without looking at the good or bad of that thought, cut it off completely and leave it in the original sphere of the Mother. Similarly, apply the same to attachment to relatives, wealth, and possessions, attachment to pleasant forms, hatred and disgust for unpleasant ones, fear of some, sorrow for others, and even for those in between where there is no strong attachment or aversion, treat all arising clinging thoughts in the same way as before. That is, let thoughts arise and dissolve on the path. If you are controlled by them, you are carried away by the mara. At that very moment, say Phat!
