There is still a need to make a final decision on this. The sixth question is: How is it not contradictory that the vase empowerment only allows one to progress to the accumulation stage, and that it is said to progress up to the eighth level of the sixth ground, and that it is said that the generation stage only accomplishes worldly achievements? To this it is said: That it only allows one to progress to the accumulation stage, and that it is said to only accomplish worldly achievements, these two points are the same, namely, those who obtain great worldly achievements through reliance on the generation stage are those who have attained the great accumulation stage. Regarding the generation stage only accomplishing worldly achievements, it is said in the Kalachakra that no matter how ultimate the result of the generation stage may be, it does not transcend the form realm, and that it is not said to be the cause of the supreme. It is also not the substantial cause, nor is it the uncommon cause, so even without it, it is possible to achieve the supreme. Here there are various views, but my own view is in accordance with the view of the accomplished master Zhiwa'i Zhap, and that view also gathers the various views of the Anuttarayoga Tantra into one, and gathers the essence of the meaning of the Five Stages, Oral Instructions, Essence Drops, Stainless Light, etc. Therefore, this system is faultless and possesses all qualities, and the previous ones seem mixed, and I do not completely agree with them, and here also, combining the vase empowerment with the sixth ground and the eighth ground is not accepted in our school. However, the meaning of the vase empowerment progressing to the sixth ground is that the sixth ground is the tenet of the vase empowerment, and the meaning of the tenet is accomplishment, but if one speaks of results, there is fear of confusion with the ultimate, so it refers to the result of the intermediate stage that has gone far beyond the temporary result and has not yet reached the ultimate result. Therefore, all the benefits of the accumulation of merit that have been passed down and relied upon from the previous practice of the generation stage will effortlessly appear on that sixth ground. Even so, it is not obtained through the generation stage, just like the resultant nirmanakaya. From the Five Stages: "By the union of the first stage, the eighth ground will be obtained, seeing the three appearances, the tenth ground is even better."

And abide in this. (Above) Thus it is said. It is also said in the same way in the "Collection of Practices". The practitioner of the generation stage and the person with a mind of solitude, abiding in their own time of that very experience and realization, are similar in terms of nearness and distance to attaining Buddhahood with those who abide in the eighth and tenth bhumis of the exoteric tradition. Only this much is admitted by our own tradition. Seventh question: The meaning of not attaining Buddhahood by the exoteric path alone seems to lie in the fact that the method of accomplishing the seven-limbed union deity is not taught therein. So, how does one attain the first bhumi by the exoteric alone? Thus it is asked. From this arises the eighth question: If one attains the first bhumi by the exoteric path alone, then how is it that one must also attain a result that is in accordance with the seven-limbed deity? Thus it is asked. From these two questions arises the ninth question: If it seems that one cannot accomplish a deity body that is merely wind and mind by the exoteric path alone, then how does one attain the peak of the path of union? Thus it is asked. From all three of these questions arises the tenth question: Is there no difference in the qualities of abandonment and realization between the initial Bodhisattvas on the exoteric and esoteric paths? Thus it is asked. Thus, in addressing these four questions: Although the reason why one cannot proceed to perfect Buddhahood by the exoteric path alone is as such, it should be said thus: Because one cannot abandon the extremely subtle habitual tendencies of the four abodes to be abandoned, and because there is no means to accomplish the body of great bliss to be attained. The meaning of these is that the extremely subtle habitual tendencies of the four abodes, and the subtle obscurations of the three appearances, and the subtle habitual tendencies of transference, and the subtle habitual tendencies of transformation, and the fourth, the subtle habitual tendencies of attachment and conceptualization, these meanings are the same. The subtle appearance of duality, the grasper and the grasped, of the three objects of body, speech, and mind, is itself the habitual tendency of leaking bliss, therefore, this must be abandoned by the path of great attachment. Moreover, as long as the duality of one's own body, speech, and mind is not exhausted, the infinite duality of external appearances will not be exhausted either, and if it is exhausted, then it will also be completely abandoned. Just as the light of a lamp does not cease as long as the oil has not run out, and if the oil runs out, then the light will also go out. Therefore, until the reversal before the end of the tenth bhumi, there are the appearances of the three, white, red, and wind.
