Everything should be done with the sole intention of benefiting others. All adversities should be counteracted with a single method. If, during practice, there is an increase in illness, harm is inflicted, relationships deteriorate, or afflictions intensify while meditating, then the practice is misguided. The remedy for all of this is to visualize all unpleasant things as the accumulation of all beings' unpleasantness and suffering. The only thing to do is the antidote of exchanging self and others. There are two things to do at the beginning and the end. In the morning, make a strong aspiration not to be stained by the defilements of wrongdoing today. In the evening, observe whether the day has been stained. If no wrongdoing has occurred, cultivate joy. If it has occurred, confess and vow not to repeat it. During the day, also repeatedly remember. Whatever happens, endure it. Whatever suffering and unpleasantness occur, think of it as the manifestation of past karma, and do not complain or be sad. Accept the sins and sufferings of others, and strive to find ways to purify sins and obscurations. Endure suffering, and when you attain happiness and well-being, do not be indulgent or indifferent, but use wealth for good deeds and transform power into virtuous actions. Pray that all beings may have happiness and well-being, and endure happiness. Both should be guarded with your life. That is, guard all the common Dharma teachings, as well as the teachings needed for mind training. Whatever you do, do not fall into the thought of seeking your own benefit. Learn the three difficulties. First, it is difficult to recognize afflictions, so be able to recognize afflictions as soon as they arise. Second, it is difficult to stop afflictions, so cut them off immediately. Finally, it is difficult to completely eradicate afflictions, so resolve firmly never to let them happen again. Have the three main causes. Namely: meeting a qualified lama, having the capacity to practice, and having favorable conditions such as food and clothing. If you have these three main causes of practice, pray that all beings also have these causes. If you do not have them, gather all the three causes that all beings do not have, and pray that they all have these three causes. Practice the three that do not decline. Namely: devotion to the lama does not

Without laxity, without diminishing enthusiasm for practicing mind training, learn the teachings of the three vows without fail, and strive to possess the three inseparable qualities. That is, may body, speech, and mind never be separated from virtue at any time. Train impartially on objects, cherish both comprehensiveness and depth. That is, one should encompass all good and bad, such as sentient beings and the four elements, with one's mind. Moreover, it should not be merely lip service, but one should cultivate it deeply from the heart. Always meditate on the applications. That is, the most difficult objects for mind training are hateful enemies, harmful obstructors, and especially those who repay kindness with harm, those who engage in wrongdoings, one should focus on training the mind. Do not rely on any other conditions. That is, regardless of whether the circumstances are good or bad, whether resources are scarce or abundant, whether people are kind or unkind, one should train the mind without any difference, without depending on others. Now, mainly put it into practice. That is, in this life, the affairs of the next life are more important, and liberation from samsara is even more important. Compared to self-interest, benefiting others is more important, and doing is more important than talking. Moreover, rather than scholars and pandits speculating from the perspective of logic, it is more important to firmly practice the oral instructions of the guru. Do not reverse it. That is, being unable to endure the suffering of practicing Dharma, but instead cultivating patience to subdue enemies and protect relatives, this is reversed patience. Not wishing to do pure Dharma, but instead craving the wealth of this life, this is reversed desire. Not experiencing the taste of practicing Dharma through the three aspects of hearing, thinking, and meditating, but instead tasting the pleasures of worldly possessions, this is reversed tasting. Not having compassion for those who do evil, but instead having compassion for those who practice austerities for the sake of Dharma, this is reversed compassion. Not applying it to worldly matters related to oneself, but instead applying it to the glory of this life, this is reversed endeavor. Not cultivating joy in the happiness and virtue of samsara and nirvana, but instead rejoicing in the suffering of enemies, this is reversed rejoicing, these six should be abandoned. Do not alternate. That is, because one has not generated certainty in the Dharma, sometimes doing it and sometimes not doing it, this fickle-mindedness should be abandoned. Train decisively. That is, without mixing with distractions, focus wholeheartedly on mind training, and train single-mindedly. With discernment and analysis
