The Sutras, as well as the Sutra of the Garland of Jewels, the Great Nirvana Sutra, the Cloud of Jewels Sutra, the Miraculous Manifestation of Perfect Tranquility, and so on, relying on many Sutras that teach the ultimate definitive meaning, the very essence of reality itself, the Tathagatagarbha, the Dharmakaya, the Everlasting Vajra, and all the ultimate qualities of the Buddha, the unique tenet that abides as its own nature from the very beginning, are made into secret teachings. The author of the treatise that clarifies the meaning of the Sutras is Maitreya, the Regent of the Buddhas. In the Ornament of Clear Realization, he only briefly explained the rough characteristics of the Dharma. In the Ornament of the Sutras, the Discrimination of the Middle and the Extremes, and the Discrimination of Dharma and Dharmata, it is explained clearly and extensively. The unique tenet of the Essence Sutra was finally established in the Uttaratantra Shastra. The commentators on the treatise are the brothers Asanga and Vasubandhu. In Asanga's commentary on the Uttaratantra Shastra, this unique tenet is explained very extensively and clearly. In general, the Madhyamaka of Other-Emptiness is explained in all the treatises of the two brothers, and it is very clear and extensive in Vasubandhu's commentary on the Twenty Thousand Verses, the 'Subduing Objections,' and in the commentary on the Discrimination of Dharma and Dharmata. The general tenet of Other-Emptiness was widely explained by many excellent students and lineages of students, such as Dignaga and Matimati. However, the unique tenet was difficult for others to understand, so it was propagated through oral transmission from teacher to student. Later, due to the emergence of many cases in India where the Madhyamaka of Other-Emptiness and the tenets of Mind-Only were confused, most Tibetans mistakenly believed that they were the same. In Tibet, although many translators translated these treatises, the translators who upheld the pure tenet were Lotsawa Zuga Gewai Dorje and Tsanka Bochhe, who practiced the Maitreya Dharma. In particular, the one who made the profound Other-Emptiness roar like a lion, spreading across the earth, was the omniscient Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen. Secondly, in the Discrimination of the Middle and the Extremes, it says: 'The unreal, completely imagined is present; in it, the two are not present; in this, only emptiness is present; in this, that emptiness is also present.'
