GZhan stong snying po. GZhan stong snying po. Herein is the Essence of Other-Emptiness. Om Swasti. Here, the nature of the Great Vehicle's definitive meaning Madhyamaka should be recognized. In general, it is to explain the classification of philosophical systems, to recognize the classification of Madhyamaka, and to eliminate the extremes examined by others regarding it. Firstly, the views of other non-Buddhist schools are contrary to the path of liberation, while the views of our own Buddhist school are related to the path of liberation. Although non-Buddhists do not have a path to liberation, they do have the Dharma of higher realms, which is both existent and non-existent. For example, those who hold nihilistic views, such as the Charvakas, deny cause and effect, and those who advocate violence as the main religion do not have a pure path to higher realms. However, the Samkhyas, the Jainas, some followers of the supreme deity, and non-Buddhist meditators do have a path to higher realms. By abandoning evil and practicing virtue, they are born as humans or gods of the desire realm; by meditating on the four dhyanas, they are born in the form realm; and by meditating on the four formless absorptions, they are born in the formless realm. The reason why non-Buddhists do not have a path to liberation is that they do not abandon the belief in a personal self, that is, the thought of grasping "I" as real. This is because, from beginningless samsara, the thought of grasping "I" is deeply rooted. Moreover, their philosophical systems also prove that the "I" exists and has many characteristics, they meditate on these, and there is no other antidote to this grasping, so they cannot abandon it. And this grasping is the cause of all other afflictions. However, these good non-Buddhists meditate on gross impermanence, such as birth, old age, sickness, and death; recognize this life and the desire realm as suffering; believe that gross phenomena such as form are unreal; they have few desires and are content; they practice loving-kindness and compassion; they practice equanimity, treating enemies and friends equally; and they abandon the four roots, etc. Therefore, their view, meditation, and conduct are good, so they have a path to higher realms. The Buddhist philosophical systems are of four types: Vaibhashika, Sautrantika, S.

The Mind-Only school and the Middle Way school. The first two of these are the Lesser Vehicle Hearers, and the latter two are the Great Vehicle. The reason for classifying them as Greater and Lesser Vehicles is that the Lesser Vehicle's Vinaya Pitaka considers the Buddha's words to be supreme, while the Great Vehicle's Sutra Pitaka considers the Buddha's words to be supreme, hence the naming. Therefore, there are so-called "Lesser Vehicle proponents" and "Great Vehicle proponents," just as they are called "Lesser Vehicle school" and "Great Vehicle school." However, classifying someone as a Lesser Vehicle or a Great Vehicle is not necessarily entirely dependent on the school. If a person has generated the thought and action of the Great Vehicle path in their mind, they are a Great Vehicle practitioner; if a person has generated the thought and action of the Lesser Vehicle path in their mind, they are a Lesser Vehicle practitioner. If neither of these two thoughts and actions has arisen in their mind, then no matter what scriptures they read, what treatises they hold, or what school they believe in, they are neither a Great Vehicle practitioner nor a Lesser Vehicle practitioner. Furthermore, some hold the Great Vehicle view but practice the Lesser Vehicle path; some hold the Lesser Vehicle view but practice the Great Vehicle path; some are both Great Vehicle, and some are both Lesser Vehicle. There are very many who merely hold the view of a school without entering the path of practice, and it is impossible for someone who has entered the path of practice not to have the view of a school. Among these schools, the Vaibhashika school believes that: Knowledge is divided into two types: mind and mental factors. Objects are the ten types of form, etc. Production and cessation, etc., are non-associated formations. Space, etc., are the three unconditioned phenomena. And they believe that past and future things exist in their own individual reality and have a real nature. They believe that coarse things and permanent things, etc., are not real. They say that consciousness arises from the real existence of objects and sense faculties, and the eye can truly see things. Among these, the better schools such as the Kashmir Vaibhashika believe that: All conditioned phenomena are impermanent because they are destroyed in an instant. And they believe that the self of a person is merely imputed and does not exist as a real entity. The worse schools such as the Mahasamghika say that: Conditioned phenomena will eventually perish, so they are impermanent, but they are not destroyed in an instant. Therefore, they also believe that permanent things exist accordingly. The permanent self imputed by the heretics
