It is so. Furthermore, if a Bodhisattva does not abandon the mind of enlightenment, even if cherishing with the five qualities of desiring limitless eons, it is only with completely pure discipline, because even in dreams, they are not affected by afflictions. This is called long-term following of the training. The Hearers, in order to immediately attain the small fruit, must quickly engage in diligence on the small path, therefore requiring a complete training, that is, without mixing. Moreover, complete enlightenment must be accomplished with great effort, so it cannot be achieved merely by being weary of suffering and solely longing for detachment, and so on. Then, Ananda asked about the weight of offenses. Considering only the Great Vehicle, an offense associated with desire, even if occurring countless times, is not as heavy as an offense associated with hatred occurring once, because hatred is abandoning sentient beings, while desire is enslaving sentient beings. Similarly, slow separation, that is, difficult to separate from, but accompanied by small faults, is not a great affliction for a Bodhisattva; quick separation, but accompanied by great faults, is the opposite of that. Then it was said that a Bodhisattva unskilled in means fears desire but does not fear hatred, while a Bodhisattva skilled in means is the opposite. Then, the noble Manjushri, having assembled in that gathering, asked: For the Dharma of taming, what kind of taming is there? The Blessed One replied: All Dharmas are extremely tame, but for those who do not understand this, taming is repeatedly taught. The meaning is that afflictions are empty by nature, but for those who do not understand this, taming is taught. Then, Ananda, through the Blessed One, urged Manjushri to teach the Dharma. Manjushri also explained the meaning of emptiness, such as the mind being naturally tame, without self, without acceptance or rejection, abiding at the edge of space, not focusing on the three times, and so on, and said: If one does not believe in this Dharma nature, then one has become distant from the training. Then, Ananda reported that whatever Dharma Manjushri teaches, he always starts from the inconceivable. The Teacher replied: If one relies on the inconceivable path, there will be no liberation, so Manjushri is also conceptual.

In order to abandon everything and abandon arrogance, the Dharma is taught. Similarly, due to clinging to things like desire as true, the mind of renunciation arises, and due to clinging to pure Dharma as true, the desire to obtain it arises. Whether profound or not, the Three Vehicles, and distinguishing between defilement and purification with true clinging, even to the point where there is nothing to think about. Thinking like this, all of that is practicing arrogance, and if one does not cling to the inconceivable nature, there is no arrogance, so it was said. Then, the Teacher extensively spoke the verses in a special statement manner, that is, the inconceivable state, and the reason for not clinging to it. Combining all the Dharmas of the ground, path, and result, he profoundly and extensively taught them with instructions. At this time, it is said: Understand the Dharmas with wisdom. Wisdom, insight, intelligence, steadfastness, self-nature, no self-nature, can never be understood, and this is certainly shown. Thus, the distinction between self-nature and no self-nature is made, and I have shown the terror of the mind-hell. Many sentient beings also die due to weariness, and the beings who fall into the evil realms, those beings never exist. Thus, the egolessness of the person is mainly shown. Those who hold swords, arrows, and weapons, the harm-doers do not exist, but due to the power of discrimination, in those evil realms, they see the body descending upon them, and there are no weapons there. Thus, it is shown that external objects do not exist, but are only mind. Various pleasing flowers bloom, and the supreme golden palace burns, delightful to the mind. In this place, there is no maker for that place either, and those are established by the power of discrimination. Thus, since there is no other maker, but only discrimination, the appearance is also not other than mind. Due to the power of discrimination, the worlds are fabricated, and children are distinguished by clinging to concepts. The grasped and the grasper also do not exist, and are completely understood as illusion and mirage. Thus, it is shown that both the grasper and the grasped do not exist. Nirvana is attained without abiding in the Alaya, and if one knows these Dharmas like space, one will travel unimpeded in hundreds of thousands of Buddha-fields. And so on, abandoning the Alaya consciousness is ultimate, and

It also proclaimed the qualities of inconceivable thought. Then, by proclaiming this category of Dharma, two hundred monks with excessive pride attained the Arhat fruit, and sixty thousand Bodhisattvas attained forbearance of the Dharma of non-origination. Afterwards, it explained the categories of names of this sutra, and the retinue rejoiced and believed. Thus, this continuous confession explains the way this sutra arises and abides, the differences between the faults and downfalls of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles, as well as the severity of the downfalls of the Great Vehicle itself, and the differences in whether or not it ultimately becomes complete, etc., so that one gains certainty in the rare Dharma. Now, let us enter the actual text of the Continuous Confession, which is summarized by the three aggregates, the four powers, and the sevenfold unsurpassed offering. This is how it is explained. Firstly, some explain it as the three aggregates of confession, rejoicing, and dedication, while one commentary on this explains it as the aggregates of confession, virtue, and supplication. However, it seems good to identify it as the three aggregates of prostration, confession, and complete dedication, if one divides the words and meanings of the text into sections. In that case, from prostrating to the King of Mountains up to prostration is the aggregate of prostration; from requesting mindfulness to also upholding from then on is the aggregate of confessing sins; from "May all those Buddhas, Bhagavadatas, be mindful of me" onwards is the aggregate of complete dedication. Here, the two, mindfulness and request, also clearly appear as sentence-making components under their respective later meaning sections, and the three sections of the text are not very unbalanced in terms of quantity, etc., so this method seems good. The initial refuge is for the sake of remembering qualities, so it is the section of prostration, and the confession below is shown from other aspects. Secondly, regarding the way to explain the collection of the four powers, although many different ways of explaining appear, the summary should be done like this: the actual confession, and the explanation of the four powers as branches of confession. The first is: from the sins and non-virtuous actions, to rejoicing in entering, and in front of them, etc.,
