also brought it. He thought: This great ascetic has great power and great magical abilities! Even so, I also think that I am an Arhat, so I don't want to follow the World Honored One to learn. From then on, the World Honored One lived in the forest dwelling of Kashyapa. Kashyapa's five hundred Brahmin disciples, each in charge of three furnaces, practiced with fire, but were blessed so that the fire could not be lit, and no method could ignite it. They pleaded with Kashyapa, who then asked the World Honored One. The World Honored One said: Kashyapa, do you want to light the fire? Kashyapa replied: Great ascetic, please light it. After that, the fire ignited by itself. Kashyapa thought: This great ascetic has great power and great magical abilities! I also think that I am an Arhat. After that, the five hundred Brahmins finished practicing with fire, and wanted to extinguish the fire, but could not extinguish it. They then said to Kashyapa. Kashyapa asked the World Honored One, who asked: Do you want the fire to be extinguished? Kashyapa also replied that he wanted to, and the fire extinguished itself. After that, Kashyapa himself could not light the fire, nor could he extinguish the fire, the situation was the same as before. Also, seeing all the fire houses being burned down by the fire, and many people unable to put out the fire, the situation was also the same as before. Later, one night, the Four Great Kings came to the World Honored One to listen to the Dharma, Kashyapa watched the stars, and saw four huge bonfires from afar. The next morning, he came to Kashyapa's residence, and Kashyapa said: Great ascetic, are you also practicing with fire? The World Honored One said: No, the Four Great Kings came to me to listen to the Dharma. Also, seeing the same as before, but an even greater flame burning than before, that was Indra coming to listen to the Dharma. Also, seeing the same as before, but an even greater fire pile, that was Brahma, the lord of the Saha world, coming to listen to the Dharma. Here, the so-called practice with fire means performing a fire offering. After that, most of the people of Magadha came to Kashyapa, and for seven consecutive days there was a large income of offerings. Kashyapa thought: How wonderful it would be if this great ascetic went somewhere else.

After leaving, knowing this, he went to another place. After seven days, the people also left. Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་) had a lot of food and utensils, and thought: How wonderful it would be if this great ascetic came here now and enjoyed these utensils! As soon as he thought this, he immediately went there. Asked: Why did you go to another place for seven days? Answered: Because that's what you were thinking at that time. Asked: Why are you here today? Answered: That's what I'm thinking today. The great ascetic is like this, please enjoy these! After that, the Blessed One again resided in the dense forest of Kashyapa's (འོད་སྲུང་) residence. Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་) invited the Buddha to have a meal, and Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང) himself prepared the meal for the Blessed One. Then he went to greet the Buddha, and the Buddha said: Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་), you go first, I will come later. Then, Shakyamuni Buddha used his supernatural powers to pick the fruit spikes of the Jambutri tree, filled the bowl, and sat on the seat laid out by Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་). Asked: What is in the bowl? The Buddha said: This is the Jambutri fruit spike I just picked, eat as you like! After saying that, he gave it to Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་). Similarly, the next morning, he also picked the fruit spikes of the large amla tree from a place near the Jambutri forest, and also brought uncultivated rice from the northern place of unpleasant sound, and gave it to him, the rest was the same as before. Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་) also held the offered umbrella and wholeheartedly did the work of eating. When water was needed there, Indra, the lord of the gods, dug the ground with his hand, and a huge stream of nectar water gushed out and fell, and he also used it to do the work of using water. Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་) saw it while walking in the residence and asked: What is this unprecedented nectar water? The Buddha told the story. The Blessed One again rose from meditation and bathed in the pool called the pool dug by hand, which was formed from the previous nectar water. There was a straight-growing haritaki tree by the pool, and when the Blessed One wanted to rise from the pool, the branch of the haritaki tree bent down by itself, and the Blessed One grabbed the branch and stood up. Afterwards, Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་) saw that the branch of the haritaki tree was more bent than before while walking, and asked the reason, and the Buddha told the previous story

E! This tree is called Arjuna, which is held by hand. Then, when the Blessed One got the Shana cloth from the broom, he wanted to wash it. Because there was no container for washing, by the order of Indra, the yakshas took a large and long stone slab from a rock mountain and offered it, and the Shana cloth was thoroughly washed on it. Again, it became necessary to spread it out, so by the order of Indra, another large and long stone slab was taken and the Shana cloth was spread out well on it. When Kashyapa was walking, he saw those and asked, 'What are these unprecedented stone slabs?' Then he told the previous stories in detail, saying, 'These stone slabs were taken by the yakshas.' Like those and so on, he showed up to five hundred miracles, the last of which was: At another time, it rained heavily and the Nairañjanā River swelled greatly, and the newly risen water level exceeded the height of a person standing. Thus, after the newly risen water receded overnight, the next morning, he walked on the uncovered water full of mud and sand. Kashyapa thought, 'Was the great ascetic not harmed by the water?' So he took a boat made of a single tree trunk and went to look for him, and saw the Blessed One doing that, and asked, 'Does the great ascetic want to get on the boat? Kashyapa wants to get on.' Then he entered the boat, and just as he entered the boat, he also walked on the water. He was not wet by the water, and he entered and exited the water, and the boat went to the bottom of the water and floated up, and so on, he showed such miracles. After showing all those miracles, he thought, 'This great ascetic is powerful, has great miracles, and is rare, but I am also an Arhat.' Therefore, he did not want to follow and learn. Then he went to the dry land on the shore and said, 'Kashyapa, you are not an Arhat, nor have you entered to realize the fruit of an Arhat, nor do you know the path of an Arhat.' Then, the dull Kashyapa thought, 'This Gautama knows my mind, and I want to be his disciple.' So he prayed, 'Please allow me to be ordained and receive the vows of a monk in the Dharma and Vinaya well spoken by you.'
