Oṃ. At this point, some former yogis relied on the image in a mirror to impart the secret instructions for introducing the illusory body. Some later great intellectuals laughed and said, "How could teaching the generation stage to those of dull faculties become a stage of self-blessing?" They also said that if that were the case, all the other examples would have to be done that way as well. But this is not contradictory, because for beginners, meditating on something similar to the illusory body can also bring great benefit. Moreover, there is no reason why it would not bring benefit at this point as well. When introducing it, one does not say, "This is the actual stage of the illusory body; you have attained non-retrogression." Rather, one says, "The illusory body is like that," thereby causing understanding to arise in the object of focus, so there is no contradiction in that. Because one generates certainty about one main example, it is fine to introduce it based on just one example. If one can understand through that, then the assertion that after doing it for one example, one must draw analogies for similar things is not established. Moreover, if it is a practice of secret instructions from an accomplished lineage, then there is no fault in explaining the other examples in that way as well. Furthermore, at this point, many noble ones say that the body of mere wind-mind is separate from the coarse aggregates. In general, the term and its meaning are not contradictory. However, if one thinks that the meaning of separate is that it arises outside the body like smoke from a flame, or that it manifests in some empty places in the body, such as inside the channels, then that understanding is extremely meaningless. If one applies the term "separate" to seeing those two as mixed when they are not actually mixed in reality, then it is not contradictory and is also in accordance with experience. However, this term "separate" does not seem to be a good term, nor is it a term spoken of in our own tradition, so it is not necessary to say it. Third, explaining the method for accomplishing the illusory body. Some say that at this point, one will explain conventional truth, the illusory body, the enjoyment body, gandharvas, and the vajra body, as well as self-blessing.

That is called "Radiance." Although those of the past thought that this was only to show the different aspects of the names of this order, it is not suitable for the Gandharva beings to be different aspects of the names of this order. Moreover, there is no reason why a separate term is necessarily needed to show different aspects, and the connection between the beginning and the end is not consistent. Therefore, in this case, it should be said: There are two aspects to this. The method of practicing the illusory body through various entryways, and how to apply the main part of the practice method to the behavior. The first aspect is: Conventional truth is illusion itself. The Sambhogakaya is also the same. That is the Gandharva being. The Vajra body is also the same. Vajrasattva is the self-nature. That is to say, in order to understand this place first, one must understand the illusory body of dreams. Moreover, in order to eliminate the misconception that this clinging coarse body, which has existed since beginningless time, will become the body of the Buddha, and in order to understand the state of the illusory body, this is very important. As it is said in the Compendium of Conduct, in this case, starting from the example of dreams, it shows the special meaning of mixing the instructions of the illusory body, and in order to ascertain the wisdom body, the game of questions and answers is performed. That is, it is said like this: Why, after sleeping for a long time, why abandon the shell of the body and go to the abode of the Thirty-three (त्रयस्त्रिंशत, trayastriṃśata, Thirty-three) in a dream, or to other places, experiencing the pleasures of the five desires, and then return to this place, why will one obtain the fruits of seeing good and evil in dreams? Likewise, in the state of sleeping or not sleeping, is there any difference? Or is there no difference? This is the question. Aggregates, elements, sources, faculties, etc., and the two consciousnesses are completely gathered here, becoming great emptiness, who is sleeping? Through the power of the wind, dreams will be seen. There is no other difference between dreams and waking, and one always desires the fruit of dreams through conceptual thought. Beings sleep nearly day and night, and because the earth becomes thick, they sleep very long. The actions that have not yet ripened, cause the wind to enter this body again. If the fruit ripens, then that wind will...
