It is said: Just as treasures and jewels are hidden, so too, the body and omniscience, due to being accompanied by ignorance, cannot be seen. Thus it is said. To cling to the phenomena that appear from sense objects, conceptual thoughts, etc., as truly existent, is the extreme of permanence; to meditate that even wind and consciousness do not exist, that there is nothing at all, is the extreme of nihilism; to hold that things merely appear, but are not truly existent, thus clinging to the middle way, is also tainted by the defilements of both extremes. This is not illusion. In Yeshe Dorje's 'Collected Works,' it says: Son of lineage, the conventional is impermanent and changing, its truth is like a moon in water. Thus, for the ultimate of conventional moments, the Dharmakaya, which is clear and empty, indivisible like a moon in water, is established as truth in a way that does not deceive as a means of realizing it, just like an illusory deity body. The deity body of Dharmata, and the appearance of face and limbs with consciousness and wind as its outer adornment, pervade all moving and unmoving things. This abides in the bodies of all beings and is unchanging, that is, from beginningless time until samsara is empty, it continues uninterruptedly. This cannot be realized through the application of conceptual thought, but only through the wisdom of supreme great bliss. Furthermore, in the 'Collected Works,' it says: Forms and other objects are the means by which the two faculties of sense and consciousness enter equally. The perfect union of vajra and lotus is the means of mind and mental factors. The equal union of mind and mental factors is the means of the great bliss samadhi. This is approximated by the example of illusion. As it is said, when the bliss of the five objects, such as form, with the consort's realm as the main focus, is taken as the path and stabilized, the bindu of union is gradually bound immovably, so that it can enter the central channel. From that entry, the wisdom of appearance and increase arises. When the two become of one taste, the great bliss illusory body arises from the ultimate proximate cause. Others say that just as treasures are hidden in the ground and jewels are hidden in the water of the ocean, so too, in the gross body and other containers, the wisdom with the form of the Buddha body is hidden. Thus it is said. The way it is hidden inside is like brown sugar hidden in sugarcane.

It is not hidden in the middle of completely separated directions. Therefore, some believe that the pure wind and mind abide in the center of the wheel of Dharma in the heart, hidden within the knots of the channels bound from above, below, left, and right. It is like binding two parts together after filling the intestines with air. And, other ordinary winds arrive near that outside, so the appearance of the dream body arises. At the time of death and during meditation on the path, when those channel knots are untied, the wind of clear light will walk in the sky in the form of having a face and limbs. Some also explain that the wind of clear light is only the life-sustaining wind among the ten winds. However, the "life wind" repeatedly mentioned here is not the life-sustaining wind among the ten winds, but a pure life wind that pervades everything. Below, it will be shown how to accomplish the root body of the wisdom body itself, and how to radiate light, and the characteristics of that body. The Root Tantra says: Body, speech, and mind are vajra, diligently meditate on the vajra softness. After radiating body, speech, and mind, it becomes like vajra softness. In a range of a hundred yojanas, the light of the burning vajra, adorned with all ornaments, the pure nature appears. Gods such as Brahma and Maheshvara cannot see it either. This is to say that one's own three doors or the wisdom of the three appearances, abandoning the rough tactile sensation of tangible phenomena, the vajra softness, becomes the illusory body. And, radiating light to the three doors of others' body, speech, and mind. A hundred yojanas symbolize radiating a light body adorned with marks and signs in the range of pervading the three thousand great thousand worlds. And, it is explained that unless this order is obtained, it is not a realm that others can see. Second, to generate certainty about this through analogy: Through the image in the mirror, the illusory body should be known. Colors are like rainbows, pervasive like the moon in water. The Vajrasattva, well depicted, liberated from real and unreal, is like the clear appearance of an image in a spotless mirror. The body, possessing the excellence of all forms, is insatiable to behold. It is shown to the excellent disciple, this is what is called self-blessing. Manifestation as illusion.
