meaning. On that platform, place the emblems of the five families of Buddhas, either painted or sculpted. That is, in the eight-petaled lotus drawn with colored powder, the vajra is in the center, the sword is in the east, the wish-fulfilling jewel is in the south, the wheel is in the west, and the lotus is in the north. Although there is a practice of painting these lotuses in the colors of each direction, it seems better to make each lotus a sun and moon cushion, that is, the east and north should use moon cushions, and the south, center, and west should use sun cushions. As it says, "Offer flowers on the top of the victory vase," it is said that way because the direction of the five vases is the conch shell of victory. In any case, it refers to the initiation conch shell itself. Furthermore, if the mandala is placed on the slightly elevated east side, it becomes the meaning of "above," or it is also good to place a higher platform on the vase. However, like some people, throwing flowers at the symbol of the vase or the symbol of the conch shell is a wrong practice. In other rituals such as garlands, first give a bunch of flowers or a garland to the disciple, and later when offering flowers, it is said that a small, fresh, and not old flower should be scattered from it. Some people also apply this to the Kalachakra practice, because the reason why fresh and small flowers must be scattered is to avoid staining the colored powder pattern. This refers to the case of directly scattering on the colored powder, but here, because it is not directly offered on the mandala, the key to not needing to do so is not understood. The mantra for tying flowers on the head and the verses for opening the blindfold are other additions, while the mantra for throwing flowers and the mantra for opening the face veil are uncommon. Seventh, indicating the deity, that is, "Now with the power of faith," etc., which appears in the general tantra, is to encourage viewing and generate joy. During the stage of self-entry, it is enough to merely believe that all the deities are seen, while when the disciple is being initiated, the palace must be described first, and then all the deities must be shown in detail. For the abbreviated one, the deities in the heart center must also be shown in detail, and it is also acceptable to only recite the names of the others. Then, reciting "Om Vajra Mandala Mandala Maha(藏文:ཨོཾ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཆེན་པོ།,梵文天城体:ॐ वज्रमण्डल मण्डल महा,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ vajramaṇḍala maṇḍala mahā,汉语字面意思:嗡,金刚坛城,坛城,大坛城)" etc., as it appears in the Vajra Heart Ornament, is because seeing such a mandala will make the disciple very happy.
