I heard a prophecy that an emanation would revive the embers of this teaching. Therefore, Lama Norbu went to Yonggyay (a patron) and offered empowerments and other rituals, requesting his support. Yonggyay presented this matter to Je Lama (Tsongkhapa), and he agreed. I believe this is how it happened. The profound Dharma of the great accomplished masters of India, the nectar that pacifies suffering. The teachings of the profound Chöd (gcod yul) tradition related to this, as well as the empowerments and explanations of the Kalachakra Tantra, including both the Jonang (bu dol) traditions. Also, the Six Yogas and their branches, Hevajra, Yamantaka, Shri Chakrasamvara, Tara Yognini, and other countless tantras of the Jonangpa tradition. The practice of the three vajras (rdo rje gsum) that the great accomplished master Orgyenpa personally received from Vajravarahi (rdo rje phag mo) in the land of Orgyen. Thus, all the great chariots of the Kagyu lineage, including their teachings and instructions, empowerments and methods of liberation, mandala rituals and practices, and scattered oral instructions, were heard, practiced, transmitted to others, and written about extensively. Therefore, he heard most of the teachings of all the schools in Tibet. Even those lamas who were previously known for their extensive learning could not learn as widely and impartially as he did. If a detailed list of his teachings were to be compiled, it would likely fill four or five volumes. However, he did not merely listen to these teachings; he studied them in depth until he thoroughly understood their meaning. In the case of sutras and tantras, he would study the meaning of each text; in the case of oral instructions and practical guidance, he would study what should be practiced in each specific situation; in the case of rituals and practices, he would study whether they were in accordance with the sutras and tantras. Until he had a deep and certain understanding of these points, he would constantly consult books and conduct research. It goes without saying that he did so when he was young, and even now, in his old age, he is almost always seen reading books whenever he has free time. As for meditation and practice, he is actually abiding in the state of a great saint, so there is no need to examine whether he has realized the profound meaning. But from the perspective of ordinary beings, he is a person with sharp faculties. When he was young and living in Ze Chen, he relied on a lama and realized the co-emergent wisdom, recognizing the nature of Mahamudra (phyag rgya chen po). Later, he relied on Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and experienced the wisdom of co-emergent knowledge like an image reflected in a mirror. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He became virtuous, becoming the root guru in the true sense, and entrusted the teachings of the lineage of union and integration to him, publicly authorizing him as regent. In the great assembly hall of Palpung Monastery, during the three years and three months, through the stable generation stage of the mandalas of the Kagyü tradition such as Hevajra, Vajravārāhī, Cakrasamvara, etc., he practiced the recitation and the completion stage of the Six Dharmas of Naropa, especially the meaning of the dohas of Je Brahmā, Mahāmudrā, which is called the state of innate mind, dwelling without any modification, the profound teachings that distinguish in an instant, the unparalleled practice, will surely reach the essence. After that, he abandoned all possessions, large and small, and built supports for body, speech, and mind. Again, he went to the solitary place of Dechen Ösel Ling, where he made it a place of practice, relying on the most basic necessities of life, from around the age of thirty to over fifty, mainly with practice as the core. On top of the warm signs arising from the recitation and practice of the profound terma of the glorious Orgyen Dharma King, the Union of All Jewels, the recitation and practice activities of the mandala deities arising from the instructions of the Eight Chariots of the Kagyü tradition, and especially the methods of the glorious Shangpa Kagyü, the Six Dharmas of Niguma, the path of liberation Mahāmudrā, etc., arose warm signs. In general, it is proven that he never separated from the key points of meditation and practice, which can be known by examining his songs. When teaching, with Tai Situ Pema Kunzang Chökyi Gyalpo at the head of the virtuous assembly, he received the reading transmission of the Kangyur of the Gyalwa. With Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, unparalleled in the three times, at the head of the supreme assembly, he gave the reading transmission of the Nyingma Gyübum, these two being the main ones. Headed by the Gyalwa fathers and sons of the Kagyü lineage, such as the Fifteenth Gyalwa Kunzang Khyab Dorje, to all the great holy beings without sectarianism, he gave the empowerment, transmission, and guidance of the Great Treasury of Termas five times, the empowerment, transmission, and guidance of the Treasury of Pith Instructions three times, and the empowerment, transmission, and guidance of the Great Treasury of Kagyü Mantras seven times. In addition, he gave sporadic empowerments, transmissions, and guidance of the deities of the new and old mandalas such as the glorious Kalachakra, which are too numerous to mention. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
