When the venerable one decided to proofread, he strongly requested me to take on this task. I have complete reverence for the precious teachings, and I know that if I could serve the lama, that would be the best thing. However, my own eye of wisdom is narrow, and especially such a profound and extensive, and extremely important task, is not something I can handle. Moreover, this work is extensive in scope and difficult to complete perfectly; various working groups gather many people, and it is difficult to maintain harmony for a long time. Considering these reasons, I was unable to accept this task. Later, when the manager Padma Lekdrup successfully printed the three volumes of 'Comprehensive Knowledge,' he offered generous offerings to many scholars, including Lama Jamyang Yonten, requesting them to assist in proofreading, but it was not completed as desired. Now, he said, 'Since this is your lama's work, you must proofread it. Otherwise, even if it is printed, it will be useless and will only be discarded like a pile of wood. Now I really can't find a proofreader.' He expressed his frustration. Because there are only three volumes, I thought it was okay, so I couldn't bear to disobey the lama's order, so I started proofreading in winter. At that time, the manager was responsible for managing his own treasure house, which was the time of settlement. When I was about to return from Lhundrup, the manager said, 'If I can get in touch with the Rinchen treasure, I can dig out two volumes; even if I can't, I must dig out one volume. So, even this little proofreading must not be wrong.' I explained that no one can do the proofreading work, and gave many reasons, but he still insisted on completing at least one volume. After that, in the second year, when the great figures shirked the responsibility of managing the treasure house, the manager himself finally took the responsibility and planned to form a working group. In Tashi Gang Monastery, the believer Gaje Drodok acted as the benefactor, and Je Lama presided over the Kagyu Eight Heruka Practice for Obstacle Clearing. The manager also came, and he reached an agreement with the donors and asked me to proofread. I was afraid of offending his wishes, so I did not refuse, but accepted. Starting from that year, for the past eleven years, I have done my best to proofread. Earlier, in the Fire Rat year, my brother Karma Tsepel started the proofreading work, for about one summer, but it was interrupted due to other reasons. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the coming year, for about three months, Kyabje Sonam Chodrup Rinpoche was still there, but later, apart from myself, there was no other helper, and I could only look at it to the best of my ability. Therefore, based on my ignorance and lack of understanding, and many other shortcomings, even though the Kangyur (Buddha's words) and Tengyur (commentaries) these precious scriptures were completed by about twenty or thirty proofreaders, there are still errors. Nevertheless, I did not easily let it go because of the rush of time or the feeling that there were not many errors, but I tried my best to work hard, putting in countless efforts. Even for most of the original texts, I did not dare to easily change their core meaning, but for those words that had to be modified, I still made modifications. There were many missing or redundant contents in the original texts. The redundant parts were easier to identify, but the missing parts were difficult to determine, and there were no other versions to refer to. Even if other versions were found, most of the old versions had differences, making it difficult to judge which version was correct. In addition, for the secret parts such as mantras, most of them were obscure and difficult to understand, and most of them had become the handwritten copies of village mantra practitioners, and even if studied, it was difficult to accurately understand their meaning. Therefore, for those parts that were difficult to determine, I would consult Je Tsongkhapa and others, and modify those parts that I understood. For those parts that I did not understand at all, I could only keep them as they were, and there was nothing else I could do. For the later new Terma, those versions that had been personally reviewed by the great Tertons should be correct. However, for those versions that have been abridged and copied, even copying one copy has many errors. For those errors that I can identify, I will modify them. For the terms and mantras of the Nyingma school, etc., they cannot be modified at will, so I keep them as they are. After completing the copying of the printing plate, I will carefully proofread it and mark the places that need to be modified, and then hand it over to the person in charge of the modification for modification. After the modification is completed, I will carefully check whether there are any errors. For the already carved versions, I will conduct a detailed proofreading, and then conduct two more proofreadings, carefully checking for errors and problems that were not found before. A total of three proofreadings were conducted. In addition, during the plate making process, I also distinguish the size and quality of the fonts, and whether the carving work can be completed smoothly, etc. In short, like pulling a boat across the river at the water's edge, I have made great efforts. In the process of working so hard, I have always been vigilant about the occurrence of accidents such as death. As the Perfection of Wisdom in One Hundred Thousand Lines Sutra says: 'Precious Dharma is rare, and always...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
