The Tibetan King welcomed them with respect. Alas! We, the fortunate people of Tibet, indulge in wonderful joy, yet are dominated by others due to excessive indulgence.’ etc., specially praised. The accomplished master Padmasambhava is renowned as being like the moon amidst the constellation of accomplished masters in the sacred land of India. The history of his countless signs of accomplishment manifested in India, Tibet, and other places is still well-known today. The great scholar Vimalamitra is known throughout India and Tibet as an outstanding figure of scholarship and accomplishment. He attained the great transference rainbow body of the immortal Vajra and still resides on Mount Wutai in China. Examples include Buddha Guhya, Jinamitra, and others who were widely known in India and later regarded as standards by Indian Panditas. It wasn't just a few; many Panditas gathered at the same time to translate, revise, and finalize the Sutras and Tantras. How did that happen in the later New Translation period? Therefore, with many exceptional translating Panditas as witnesses, the Dharma was translated without error, like pure refined gold, which is the greatness of the Early Translation Dharma. Those exceptional Panditas attained the state of mastery and could turn sand into gold and stones into jade. They treated gold and clay equally, not prioritizing wealth. They had the welfare of the teachings and beings at heart, and their aspirations and compassion dispelled the darkness of the snowy land. The kings and sons of the Buddhas appeared as wise and accomplished beings, as evidenced by the prophecies in the early Kalachakra and Manjushri Root Tantra, which stated that the king is a god among men. Fifth, the greatness of the offering gifts. The Dharma King measured gold dust by the bre, filling a deer's belly with gold, demonstrating great wealth and power. This is how so many translators were invited to Tibet. This is merely the greatness of wealth and does not translate into the greatness of Dharma. Therefore, some of the New Translation schools claim that their doctrine is purified by three examinations, like refined gold. If you arrogant ones obtained that Dharma, so be it. However, you have not understood that this Dharma came about through the aspirations and compassionate power of the great Dharma King. However, the abundance of wealth... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If there were no such conditions, it would be like Jo bo rje searching for gold to invite [Atisha] to Tibet, which resulted in Lha Lama Yeshe Od dying in Garlog's prison. Although the aspiration is great, it cannot be achieved. The Dharma King (Chos kyi rgyal po), with great power, in order to establish a monastery, had an external temple, internal supports for body, speech, and mind, travel expenses and necessities for the translators and pandits who were the holders of the teachings, and attendants, without lacking anything needed. Therefore, translators and pandits were able to gather and translate pure Dharma, so wouldn't this be a great thing? Because this is a prerequisite for the rise of Dharma. In comparison, the so-called 'golden Dharma,' or 'the Dharma sought with difficulty by going to India,' or the 'single lineage secret of pandits and siddhas' as it is called in Tibet, although it is Dharma, and profound and difficult to obtain, is true. However, it is extremely rare to have offerings as generous as in the time of the Dharma King, or to practice austerities like Bai ro, or to receive teachings directly from great Indian pandita incarnations. Therefore, this is also a true reason for the greatness of the Dharma, although other Dharmas have greatness, there is no greatness comparable to it. Sixth, the greatness of the Dharma to be translated. So many profound sutras and tantras appeared in the early translation period. Later, although there were translations of some unfinished texts, they were not translated on such a large scale as before. For example, the 'Great Commentary' (Bye brag bshad mdzod chen po) was not translated before, and the Sanskrit original was placed in Samye Monastery (bsam yas su bzhag pa yin mod) to show the quality of the translators, but has anyone translated it since then? Similarly, there are the 'Hundred Thousand Tantras' (rgyud 'bum lnga), and many other sutras and tantras that have not been translated into Tibetan in India, let alone in other realms and the secret treasuries of dakinis. If the power, wealth, ability, and wisdom to translate them arise, then they can be translated. It is only that no one has been able to translate them. In particular, the three inner tantras (nang rgyud sde gsum) are the essence of the intent of the ocean-like tantra divisions of Vajrayana, represented by the tantras that are commonly known to both the old and new traditions, the key points of the oral instructions, the definitive meaning, and the ultimate intention of all the Buddhas. Even in India, only a few wise and accomplished ones have some knowledge of them, and because they are extremely secret and profound teachings, it is difficult for ordinary people to obtain them. However, great accomplished masters such as Padmasambhava (Pad 'byung) and Vimalamitra (Bi ma la), having taken them freely, with compassionate hearts without regard for offerings... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
