Especially in places like Orgyen (birthplace of Padmasambhava) and the island of Singala (ancient name for Sri Lanka), great masters like Guru Padmasambhava and Vimalamitra, through their miraculous powers, retrieved and translated the scriptures. Regarding the translations, since the early translators were emanations, they accurately determined the meaning of the scriptures, making them easy to understand and greatly helpful for grasping the overall content. Later translators, unable to translate the meaning, transliterated according to the order of the Sanskrit originals, resulting in stiff and difficult-to-understand sentences, and were less helpful for grasping the overall content. They said that this is the difference. If someone thinks these are self-praises of the Nyingma, it is not so, because it is a true praise that accords with the facts. How so? In the new translations (Sarma), there was no situation like in the early days, where translators and Panditas gathered together to review and translate reliable and authentic teachings. First, the merit of the inviter, possessing great authority like Dharma King Trisong Detsen, who could gather Panditas and Siddhas from India, China, Zhangzhung, etc., how could that happen later? Even if it is admitted that this was due to the king's great authority, it should not be thought that this does not translate into the merit of the Dharma. It is because of the king's great authority that the Dharma was propagated by gathering wise and accomplished individuals from all directions, so compared to the new translations, the old translations (Nyingma) are undoubtedly more credible and reliable. Even in later translations, there were inviters like Lha Lama, and Panditas like the great Atisha, but at that time, the new translations were only some scattered parts, not as widespread as in the early days. Not to mention those translators who went to India on foot alone. These are not meant to disparage the translators and Panditas of the new translations, as those great beings also benefited the Dharma and sentient beings, but to show that the source of the old translations is more excellent. Secondly, the merit of the place of translation, namely Samye Monastery. In the early days, Guru Padmasambhava, with his powerful abilities, subdued the non-humans and negative forces of the snowy land, brought the eight classes of gods and demons (Lha-ma-srin-sde-brgyad) under control, and employed them, with the Four Great Kings (Gyalchen-Shi) and others acting as foremen to build it. In particular, countless volumes of tantric scriptures, guarded by Vidyadharas (Rigdzin) and Dakinis (Khandro), were invited and enshrined from various places such as gods, nagas, yakshas, and humans. During the consecration of the temple, flowers rained down from the sky, and countless inconceivable sights appeared, becoming nectar for the eyes of gods and humans. The lords of mantras and the assembly of protectors guarded the secrets of the teachings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Like the temple of Orgyen Heruka (Sanskrit: Heruka, Wrathful Deity), it is widely known and is one of the three immutable, spontaneously accomplished temples, etc., the three Dharmacakras (Tibetan Buddhist term, referring to the Buddha's teachings). In the later translation period, there were various temples such as the Toling Golden Temple, but none could compare with the earlier translations, hence. Therefore, such a temple has powerful blessings and deterrence, and is mainly based on the original Indian Sanskrit texts, and is inhabited by many translators and accomplished masters, so even the slightest self-made words cannot be added. Therefore, the Dharma translated there is like gold that has been burned, cut, and polished, and is worthy of being a standard, which is the greatness of the early translations. Third, the greatness of the translators. The lord of the ten bhumis, the noble Samantabhadra himself manifested as a human, namely the great translator Vairochana, etc., who could discern the depths of the Dharma, perfected the merits of realization, manifested the signs of accomplishment, and gathered many saints such as the twenty-five lords and subjects. One hundred and eight translators, etc., gathered together, first translating the scriptures into Tibetan, and then having the Panditas as witnesses to proofread the meaning of the words, and then determining it through teaching and discussion. Such translations were rare even later. As praised by Ngok Lotsawa. Therefore, since translators and accomplished masters gathered together and purified the Dharma, this is actually the greatness of the Dharma. Fourth, the greatness of the Panditas. In the new translation period, most of the translations were done by translators based on Sanskrit originals, and most of them were translated after hearing from Panditas, and these Panditas also met the standards, but people like the Panditas and accomplished masters of the early translation period were very rare. As the great Sakya Pandita said: 'The virtuous and disciplined holy Khenpo Shantarakshita, the accomplished Padmasambhava, the intelligent Kamalashila, are the second Buddhas of the age of debate.' As Je Tsongkhapa said, masters like Khenpo Shantarakshita, who were known as the pioneers of the chariot path, were rare even in India: 'Following in the footsteps of Manjushri, transcending the boundaries of self and other schools, mastering the profound meaning, I prostrate to the glorious Shantarakshita.' And, 'After experiencing his intellectual feast, in countless lifetimes, on the path of reason, having undergone countless hardships, in argumentation and refutation, fully mastering the eloquent debaters, as noble as the jewel on the crown of the head, ending the evil speech, such a one is extremely rare even in the holy land of India.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
