ཀྱི། (kyi): Therefore, what is included by the path of learning is not existent, because the path has reached its end. There are various names for this, such as innate ignorance, the ālaya (kun gzhi) of various habitual tendencies, beginningless and endless obscurations, great darkness, and primordial ignorance. The eight consciousnesses that rely on this are, for example, the ālaya of various habitual tendencies, which is indeterminate, is like a mirror; the appearance of the ālaya consciousness is like the clarity of the mirror; the five sense consciousnesses are like the appearance of images; the object of the five senses initially appears as 'this,' which is the mind consciousness; after that, the object gives rise to the three emotions of attachment, aversion, and indifference, which is called the afflicted mind. The omniscient Dharma Lord said: 'In whatever awareness, without distraction or confusion, without clinging to the appearing object, when focusing single-mindedly on the ālaya, whatever clear appearance arises, do not allow clinging to it; the appearance of the ālaya consciousness is clear and unwavering. When the objects of the five senses and negation, affirmation, grasper, and grasped, the seventh consciousness coarsely discriminates the object, it is called the seven consciousnesses.' Therefore, the ālaya is indeterminate and is also the place of liberation of primordial purity, so it is not one; if one recognizes its original face, it is a Buddha; if one is deluded by ignorance, one becomes a sentient being, so it is not different either. The *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra* says: 'The nature of the active element and ultimate reality is neither one nor different; those who conceive of it as one or different are engaged in improper views.' The *Tantra* says: 'Mind and wisdom are of two kinds, neither one nor different, they are dharmas that are extremely difficult to distinguish.' Primordial purity and the ālaya have no before or after, they are co-emergent, like a bird and an egg; without a bird, there would be no egg, and without an egg, there would be no bird, they are considered to be naturally co-emergent. Therefore, unlike the Bönpo view, which considers the emptiness that was originally non-existent to be primordial purity, and then it becomes the basis of the cycle of delusion, because the nature of the fundamental primordial purity is not deluded in the three times, so there will be no subsequent delusion. Some also say: 'Trekchö (thod rgal) and spontaneous luminosity' are very profound, but in reality, they are just introductions to the rays of the sun, squeezing the eyes, seeing without covering the eyes, hearing sounds when blocking the ears, the binding of the pulse, masks, and so on. In that case, is the luminosity called the Vajra Chain of Clear Light the manifestation of dharmatā, or an experience, or a sensory... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is direct perception (Ngon sum). If it is Dharmata direct perception (chos nyid ngon sum), since it is the domain of Dharmata, it naturally appears as the play of self-appearing wisdom, without the need for various fabricated causes. It is not an object to be seen by the senses and sense consciousness. If it is the direct perception of experience (nyams kyi ngon sum), when the experience is dependent on meditation and appears as the nature of the path sign, this is not it either, because even if the path is not meditated, various causal appearances will appear when the time is right. If it is sense direct perception (dbang po'i ngon sum), it should not be called Dharmata direct perception (chos nyid ngon sum zhes btags su mi rung la). Even if it is, the Dharmata that actually appears in the object of the senses is ridiculous. Also, the colors that arise from various causes, etc. It is said that in one's own heart, the mind-essence abides in the form of five lights, and that it is seen as the radiance shining outwards, so one looks at the sunlight, etc. If the radiance that one possesses is in the heart, then it should appear effortlessly without relying on sunlight, etc., but it does not appear. If it is said that it needs to be stimulated by causes, then, for example, the plan is that in the heart there is one mind in the form of five lights. Appearing in the face of sunlight is one continuous mind. The continuous grasping is one mind that is seen by eye consciousness, so there are three. If you think so, it seems like a more secret doctrine than Buddhism. Holding the mind-essence in the form of five lights in the heart, and constantly looking at it, thinking that there is a permanent, self, eater, doer, independent mind, whose light is very large, like the size of an egg, or as small as a mustard seed, there is no difference at all. If there is a difference, it is reasonable to state its proof. However, although the light is certainly in the heart, it is not certain that the radiance is seen externally. Although the basis of the light, the heart and internal organs, certainly exist, it is not actually seen from them. When looking directly at the seen rays, etc., if you use the mind as the basis for grasping and cultivate the view of equanimity, then there is not much fault. But even so, it is most important to cultivate on whatever appears as the object cause. Seeing the rays and seeing a pile of vomit, if you know how to cultivate the view of equanimity, you will be liberated, and if you do not know, it will be the cause of bondage. Therefore, if you ask what is the profound essence of the appearance of spontaneous accomplishment (lhun grub ngon sum), what kind of pure reason do you speak of? Also, in your writings, it is said that the appearance of these bindus (thig le), minute bindus (thig phran) is the Sambhogakaya (longs sku) pure land (zhing khams), so it is seeing the pure land. Is this a pure land with characteristics? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
