Now, let the mind be completely relaxed and let go. In a state of bright clarity, recite 'ཕཊ' (Tibetan), 'phaṭ' (Sanskrit Devanagari), 'phaṭ' (Sanskrit Romanization), 'cut' (literal Chinese meaning) three or seven times, etc. At this time, the meaning of non-fabrication arises instantly and does not disappear. Oh, son of noble lineage, the current nature of mind is self-luminous, naked, without clinging, clear, without fabrication, vivid, clear, and awake. While the energy of appearance has not stopped, experience the state of not being caught in clinging. This naked, open state that cannot be expressed in words is also called the Great Perfection of the ultimate meaning, Mahamudra, the power of awareness. Vipassana, view, realization, trekchö, although the names are many, their meaning is the primordially pure nature of reality, self-aware Samantabhadra, the flawless nature of meaning, and this is it. Now recognize this and do not separate from practicing this meaning. Even when this is not realized, this is inherently present, but one does not recognize one's own face, and various thoughts arise due to sudden defilements. Now, starting from today, your karma will be exhausted, you will see the face of self-arisen wisdom, and the Buddha has been placed in your hands. From now on, do not separate from this reality. You will surely attain enlightenment in one lifetime. This has been explained in detail. This is like a poor person finding a treasure of wish-fulfilling jewels, because self-luminous awareness has been introduced nakedly, so you will enjoy the state of mind of the Buddha. In this way, through experience and awareness, introduce it in detail, hitting the key point. This is very profound and very wonderful. Samaya (vow). Then, as a preliminary to the actual practice of trekchö, rely on vase breathing to distinguish the clarity and impurity of awareness. With the body in the seven-point posture, visualize the yidam deity. Exhale twice alternately through each nostril, and then exhale once through the central nostril. Then inhale slowly and deeply, holding it below the navel. Slightly tighten the lower abdomen. Focus the eyes on the space one finger-width above the tip of the nose. Focus awareness on a bright and clear white A (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, literal Chinese meaning) in the space one cubit in front. Afterward, exhale slowly. Keep the lips and teeth slightly apart, remaining natural. Continue this for two nights. In this way, breath and awareness will separate purity and impurity, and wisdom will naturally arise. Then, practice the pranayama again as before. Focus the eyes on the tip of the nose. Observe your own face. Do not engage in conceptual analysis. Keep the mind focused on the object of meditation, and meditate naturally. In a state of bright clarity, recite 'ཕཊ' (Tibetan), 'phaṭ' (Sanskrit Devanagari), 'phaṭ' (Sanskrit Romanization), 'cut' (literal Chinese meaning) to cut through. Afterward, observe. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At that time, even if you deliberately fabricate, the mind will not scatter, but will remain steadily in stillness. In that state, you can meditate for one night or any appropriate time. Then, use the 'phrul 'khor (a meditation technique) as before. Enhance your awareness (rig pa). The eyes stare into space. Let awareness pass through the eyes from within the heart, expanding into the empty area in space. Focus on this slightly, meditating with the power of self-awareness (rang rig), so that thoughts are overwhelmed. You should distinguish the essence of appearance (snang) and emptiness (stong). At that time, quiescence (zhi gnas, calm abiding) is like an ocean undisturbed by the wind, calm and without thought. Or, when awareness distinguishes between clarity and turbidity, it is as if coarse thoughts arise more easily than before, and even any arising thought is immediately grasped by mindfulness. This is called quiescence, where the wind and awareness have returned to calmness. Some meditators cling to this, thinking it is the essence of meditation, but this is not the case. Then, the lama will advise you not to cling to the state of stillness, not to view thoughts as defects, but to integrate them into your practice. You should learn how to skillfully guide yourself through the lama's experience. Then, you should receive a complete introduction to the vipashyana (lhag mthong) of non-fabrication (spros bral). Regarding the essence of any arising appearance, arising is liberation (shar grol), simultaneous liberation (mnyam grol), no matter how it flows and radiates, its essence is not truly established. Thoughts are clear and empty. Objectless naked (rjen pa) emptiness, accomplished by its own energy. Inexpressible, non-fabrication. In essence, it appears as anything, as long as the radiance is not interrupted. Therefore, know that the essence of appearance is emptiness, objectless, beyond mind. Not being separate from this meaning is vipashyana. In such a state, the lama will ask you questions from time to time and have you continue to meditate. When meditating in this way, the initial state will be accompanied by a sense of comfort, and some may cling to this slightly. In any case, all arising of thoughts is emptiness, clarity, arising is liberation, simultaneous liberation. Have confidence in yourself. Feel amused. No matter how appearances occur, they are unobstructed. Do not cling to this, let it be free. Eventually, you will feel inner peace, certainty, and stability. Now, the lama will finalize your understanding through experience, correct temporary errors, and through meditation, a clear realization will arise from within, like the sun rising without obscuration, beyond words and concepts, a clear experience that does not remain in the knower and the known. Also, at this time, some may think that everything is empty, and therefore become dazed and empty. Or, although you have distinguished the essence of appearance and emptiness, and have determined that everything exists in self-awareness, you will say that you are a Buddha because of a slight attachment to the experience. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
