The teaching manual of Klongsal Nyingthig (klong gsal snying thig, Clear Expanse Heart Essence), like a wish-fulfilling jewel. Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ. In the mandala of the sphere of awareness, clear and empty, the essence of the bindu (dbyings rig stong gsal thig le), self-arisen, spontaneously perfect, luminous, and uncompounded (rang byung lhun grub 'od gsal 'dus ma byas). Primordial protector, Samantabhadra (kun bzang) and Samantabhadri (kun bzang yab yum), Orgyen (O rgyan, Padmasambhava) and all the lineage lamas, yidam deities, and oath-bound protectors (bka' srung), all sources of accomplishment, I prostrate with body, speech, and mind, and take refuge. Supreme, inexpressible, luminous heart essence, the heart essence of the yogin of Orgyen (O rgyan), my life force, the heart blood of the dakinis (mkha' 'gro), the profound key instructions of Klongsal Nyingthig (klong gsal snying thig), are well written here for the benefit of fortunate disciples. May the gods, vidyadharas (rig 'dzin), and dharma protectors, the dakinis, grant their blessings. Therefore, this great secret key instruction of the sacred Dharma, Klongsal Nyingthig (klong gsal snying thig), has ten meanings. First, examine the lama and the student, the place and the equipment, the time and the auspicious connections, and the instructions and the favorable conditions, etc., which should be understood in detail from the instructions of the text. First, the common preliminaries accumulate merit; second, the uncommon preliminaries distinguish between samsara and nirvana ('khor 'das ru shan); third, settle the three doors by abiding (rnal 'bebs) and placing separately (sor 'jog); Fourth, invoke blessings through Guru Yoga (bla ma'i rnal 'byor); fifth, seek the essence of reality through the three places of origin, action, and destination; sixth, reveal the face of reality through forceful introduction; Seventh, determine the infallible conclusion through the instructions of the Base Cutting Through (gzhi khregs chod); eighth, bring the practice to completion through release and obstacle removal; ninth, indicate the key points of the profound path through the instructions of the Leap Over (thod rgal); tenth, bring the Dharma to its ultimate conclusion through the ultimate reliance of the oral instructions. First, the common preliminaries have eight aspects: precious human rebirth, death and impermanence, the faults of samsara, taking refuge and generating bodhicitta, accumulating merit mandala, restoring broken vows and accumulating merit, Kusu Lu Yoga (ku su lu'i rnal 'byor), and purifying obscurations through the recitation of the Hundred Syllable Mantra (yig brgya). Thus, the eight branches of the common preliminaries are explained in detail in the Dharma Practice Gradual Path (chos spyod lam rim), and summarized in the Dharma Practice Wish-Fulfilling Jewel (chos spyod yid bzhin nor bu). Second, the uncommon preliminaries distinguish between samsara and nirvana ('khor 'das ru shan) in three ways. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the differentiation of outer, inner, and secret aspects. Firstly, the outer differentiation is that of body, speech, and mind. The purpose is: firstly, by differentiating the body, the outer aspect is that the elements of the body are balanced, thus leading to longevity and fewer illnesses; the inner aspect is that the obscurations of the body are purified, thus swiftly attaining accomplishment; the secret aspect is that wisdom directly arises, thus the increase of the four visions is swiftly perfected, and therefore there is the purpose of attaining the Vajra body. The scriptural references regarding the purpose, qualities, etc., of the Tantras are not elaborated here, and should be understood from the texts themselves. Firstly, the actual differentiation of the body is: on a comfortable seat, the body should be in the Vajra posture, with the soles of the feet facing upwards. The spine should be straight, the four limbs of the body should be taut, and the back of the neck should be straight. The two hands should be joined at the crown of the head. The gaze should be fixed on the space in front. The object of the mind should also remain suspended in the expanse of the sky. Visualize the body as a five-pronged golden Vajra, standing upright. Do this for as long as the elements allow, initially for the duration of a single meal, and then strive diligently day and night as much as possible. By meditating in this way, the three main channels, the five chakras, etc., will be brought into the essential points, and ultimately the Vajra body will be attained. Temporarily, it will also eliminate obstacles and become the supreme protection. One should remain in such a posture for a long time. If one becomes tired, one should utter the empty sound 'Ha', and at the same time, one should think that one's own awareness, abiding as white 'A' (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: None), has gone far into the sky above the crown of the head. At the same time, the body should fall backwards, collapsing like a corpse in a charnel ground. Abandoned and without support, it should be left to collapse. If one strives diligently in this way for three days or two days, one will differentiate the body, and in general, one will differentiate the body, speech, and mind. Why? The Vajra posture of the body is the body, the mind fixed on the unconditioned sky is the mind, and uttering the sound 'Ha' is the differentiation of speech through the key point of the breath. This is different from the common language of Dzogchen, because this is very profound, so this itself cuts the root of one's own mind and brings about the seeing of the true nature. Samaya (vow). Secondly, the differentiation of speech, samsara, and nirvana. Again, on a comfortable seat, the body should be in the seven-point posture of Vairochana, with the eyes gazing into space, the gaze fixed and blank. Suppressing appearances, in this state, one should utter the fierce sound of 'Hūṃ' (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
