So I thought. Then I, the embodiment of the sun and moon's rays, although born in a place where vows were unbroken and the Dharma flourished, due to the residue of karma, lingered in the bustle of samsara for twenty-five years. I experienced the high, low, and middle states. When I reached the age of twenty-five, those who desired to be powerful leaders, as well as the Khenpos (abbots) adorned with learning and merit, all abandoned their vows and commitments to the Dharma due to their individual desires. They cast aside worldly decency and shame, formed factions and cliques, engaged in internal strife, and stirred up the land into a sea of blood, so that even those sentient beings in the degenerate age who had obtained a human body had no opportunity for peace even for a moment. I thought to myself, if there is no Dharma that resonates with my heart, then nothing is of any use. Now I should seek a non-sectarian yogi master, request a profound teaching, and go to a non-sectarian solitary place to practice. So I inquired of some people whether there were any non-sectarian yogi masters, but I did not receive a convincing answer. One night, I prayed to the deity and made a vow before falling asleep. At dawn, I dreamed that some young women were dancing, saying, 'Today we heard the name of the yogi master, and those who are destined are going to meet him.' I woke up happily, thinking, 'Today, no matter who I meet, I must inquire carefully.' So I waited at the crossroads, and as a result, I met a yogi who claimed to be coming from the direction of Tsari (place name). As soon as I saw them, I felt very happy. I invited them into the house, offered them tea and other sumptuous food, and then asked, 'Which places have you visited? How many masters have you met? Which most amazing yogi master have you met?' They replied, 'We have visited many sacred sites and masters in U-Tsang (central and western Tibet) and Dak-Kong (place name). In the place called Kongpo Mon (place name), there is a master named Yogi Nyima Rangdrol (person's name), whom we admired, so we went to see him.' Hearing this, I felt immeasurable joy in my heart, so I prepared everything I needed and went to Kongpo without hesitation. In Mon, I met Yogi Nyima Rangdrol, and as soon as I saw his face, I felt the joy of attaining the first bhumi bodhisattva. I offered him gifts and requested him to accept me with compassion. The master said, 'Child, it is good that you have come! You have the nature of awareness and are the heir to my teachings.' So I thought.
