In the month of Ugyen Zala (Ugyen Zala), the Chakravartin (universal monarch) of the Treasure-Revealing Ocean of Lotus Light Mantra Land (Padma Osal Do Ngak Lingpa), the Dharma Lord Dakini (chos bdag mkha' 'gro) personally offered an ancient exemplar containing the life-wheel instructions (srog 'khor man ngag). Because the various parts of the sadhana (sgrub thabs) were bestowed in the manner of blessing, during the time of determination, in a pure dream vision, in a very delightful place, on the front of a mountain shaped like an elephant (ri bo glang chen), the master (rje nyid) appeared, and from afar a very bright and lustrous green orb of light appeared. As it drew closer, it was like sunlight shining on a clear, greenish-black gemstone, radiating various colors of light. Upon arriving before a large and clear orb shaped like a one-eyed jewel, with a sense of wonder, I entered within, and saw upon a richly adorned jeweled throne, the black Dzambhala (Dzambhala) shimmering with green light, his face and hands etc. corresponding to the visualization (mngon rtogs), very clear, and surrounded by attendants. In that instant, he transformed into the form of Ugyen Nangsi Zilnon (Ogyen Nangsi Zilnon), and bestowed the complete instructions for the maturation and liberation (smin grol) of this practice. Regarding the sadhana portion of this practice, the treasure exemplars (gter dpe) of the Nepalese Ahum Bar (A hum 'bar) and Guru Jo Tse (Guru Jo tse) were previously the same, therefore the two lineages will become mixed together, and he bestowed a special sign of blessing. Among all the wealth deities, there are no obstacles from demons in practicing this, and it possesses the wheel etc. that are satisfactory, with profound and wondrous key points. Connect through practicing the profound life-force empowerment of the great Yaksha army chief (gnod sbyin sde dpon chen po), and offer a mandala of precious jewels and other cherished valuables. Visualize the Lama and the Secret Lord (gsang ba'i bdag po) as inseparable, and with unwavering devotion and intense longing, join your palms and supplicate, repeating the following: Glorious Lama Secret Lord, Please consider me with compassion, Please bestow upon me the accomplishment empowerment of the Yaksha army Dzambhala, I beseech you to grant your blessing. (Recite three times) Having supplicated in this way, the secret samaya is proclaimed and permission is granted, please listen: This is the great Yaksha Black One (yaksha kala che), A powerful and blessed master of strength, If you can protect the samaya like your life, Then empowerment will be given, not to another. Thus he admonishes and bestows the samaya water nectar. Vow to never transgress the samaya as admonished, and recite the following samaya words: Never transgress the Vajra samaya, Samaya Naraka (藏文,समया नरक, samaya naraka, Samaya Hell). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the sake of purifying the lineage, in front of the mandala of the secret lord (Guhyapati, another name for Vajrapani) and the Ishtadevata Jambhala, surrounded like dense clouds by the ocean of the three roots (Guru, Ishtadevata, and Protector), together with all sentient beings pervading the sky, with the intention of taking refuge until enlightenment, repeat after me: Namo! I and the three realms, etc., repeat three times as if pulling a hair from a yak's tail. Generate a clear understanding of the supreme Bodhicitta, which possesses the nature of aspiration and entry, and repeat after me: I benefit sentient beings, etc., three times. For the confession with eight branches, clearly remember the meaning of each word, and repeat after me: Vajra Guru, Buddha glorious, etc. Then, in order to establish the basis for empowerment and to invoke the Jñanasattva, restrain the key points of body, speech, and mind, and meditate single-pointedly on this visualization: Purify with the water of the activity vase and Amrita, and purify with Svabhava. All phenomena are without inherent existence, within the state of luminous emptiness, in the place where you are, on the pistils of various lotuses, on the solar disc, on the excellent treasure vase and the throne of the Yaksha male and female union, your own mind is a blue, radiant Hūṃ syllable, marked with Vajra Hūṃ. From that (Hūṃ syllable) emanate immeasurable rays of light, gathering all the glory and essence of samsara and nirvana and dissolving into it, transforming into a mass of blue light. In an instant, you become the Bhagavan (Lord) Protector Jambhala, with a dark blue body that shines with oily radiance, short in stature, with a fierce and wrathful appearance. One face, three eyes, eyebrows furrowed, four fangs bared. Of the four arms, the first right hand raises a vajra hammer, the first left hand raises a jewel banner, the lower right hand holds a skull bowl filled with jewels, and the lower left hand holds a treasure mongoose. The hair is reddish-yellow and stands upright, the crown of five skulls has a jeweled top and tassels. Wearing a tiger skin loincloth, adorned with five kinds of snakes and jewels. The emblems stand upright, and both feet are in a left-extended posture, standing in the midst of blazing wisdom fire. Vasudhara, green, holding an iron hook and a treasure vase, embraces from the left side, the three places (body, speech, and mind) are marked with Oṃ, Āḥ, and Hūṃ. From the Guru's heart also emanates light filling the sky, and from the natural abode and Jaṅguli (a manifestation place of Avalokiteśvara) descends immeasurable Jñanasattva identical to the visualization, descending like a heavy rain. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
