May all beings attain the wisdom of the Sugatas through this. Then, request forgiveness. Take the Torma (Tibetan: གཏོར་མ་, Sanskrit: Bali, Romanized Sanskrit: Bali, Literal meaning: food offering) to a clean place. Dissolve the Mandala. Recite auspicious verses. The ritual of the White Manjushri empowerment, compiled by the translator Jampa'i Pal, according to the practice of Pandit Shakya Shri. Sarva dā maṅgalaṃ! (Tibetan: སརྦ་དཱ་མངྒ་ལཾ།, Devanagari Sanskrit: Sarva dā maṅgalaṃ, Romanized Sanskrit: Sarva dā maṅgalaṃ, Literal meaning: May there be auspiciousness at all times!) Herein lies the root Sadhana of White Manjushri, along with four types of activities. With a very white and radiant hue, in the middle of the ocean, amidst the stamens of a lotus, Arose the stem, and upon the moon, is the venerable Manjushri, Holding the form of a youth, seated in Vajra posture, resembling a snow mountain, One face, two hands, bestowing the supreme, holding an Utpala flower, I prostrate to Manjushri. Having praised in this way, the method of accomplishing it is the ritual, Following the wise, I shall clearly explain. There are two aspects to it: the root Sadhana and the detailed activities. The first has four parts: preliminaries, The main part, generating the deity, Performing the recitation, And the subsequent activities. The first is preceded by the four immeasurables. Clearing away the darkness of ignorance of all sentient beings and placing them in the light of wisdom. For that purpose, cultivate the mind of enlightenment, thinking, 'I will accomplish Manjushri'. Then, as a preliminary, contemplate all phenomena of existence, both stable and moving, as empty with the Svabhava mantra (Tibetan: སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ, Devanagari Sanskrit: Svabhāva, Romanized Sanskrit: Svabhāva, Literal meaning: self-nature). The main part, generating the deity: From emptiness, from the syllable 'vaṃ' (Tibetan: བཾ་, Devanagari Sanskrit: vaṃ, Romanized Sanskrit: vaṃ, Literal meaning: vaṃ) arises a white and vast ocean, its edges adorned with groves, various elephants dwelling upon it, and various flowers blooming upon the ocean. Adorned with melodious water birds singing. In the center of that, from the yellow syllable 'paṃ' (Tibetan: པཾ་, Devanagari Sanskrit: paṃ, Romanized Sanskrit: paṃ, Literal meaning: paṃ) arises a lotus stem, its branches and leaves made of gold. The petals are fully bloomed. In the center, upon an eight-petaled lotus with red and yellow stamens, from the syllable 'A' (Tibetan: ཨ་, Devanagari Sanskrit: A, Romanized Sanskrit: A, Literal meaning: A) arises a full moon disc. In the center of that, one's own mind transforms into a single white syllable 'A' (Tibetan: ཨ་, Devanagari Sanskrit: A, Romanized Sanskrit: A, Literal meaning: A). From that, immeasurable light radiates. Offering to the noble ones. Purifying the obscurations of ignorance of all sentient beings. Placing them in the light of wisdom. The rays of light converge back and completely transform. Oneself becomes Manjushri, with a white-colored body, one face, and two hands. The right-hand bestows the supreme. The left-hand holds the stem of an Utpala flower at the heart, with the flower blooming at the ear, upon which rests the Prajnaparamita Sutra in one hundred thousand verses. Seated in the full lotus posture. Adorned with silk and jewel ornaments. Contemplate as being about sixteen years old.
