May this (ritual) be auspicious and complete! Deceive those who are being watched by (death), may diseases, demons, habitual tendencies, and sins be purified immediately, and please dispel the causes of death. Offer these five desirable offerings to the gods who increase the five elements. Please enjoy these offerings and be delighted. The gods of the five elements are the foundation for increasing the gods. Listen to the teachings of the Buddhas, to all the worldly gods and ghosts who control the five elements, offer ransom food to redeem life, release the imprisoned, untie the bonds, and repay all debts and karmic debts. Take the life of rebirth as a human as ransom. Take it away, take it away, lords of the ransom food! Lords of the year, lords of life, and lords of attachment! Remembering, grasping, thinking, and touching, please release, pacify, and liberate! Dispel death within three years. Afterward, place it in the river. Doing it once a year will surely dispel the causes of untimely death. There is nothing deeper than this! Samaya! Seal! Seal! Seal! The third, deceiving death through practice: Invite a qualified guru, offer pleasing offerings, request empowerment, especially request the guidance of longevity. Samaya! Seal! Seal! Seal! The fourth, deceiving death through the Dharma wheel: At an auspicious astrological time, on blue paper, draw the longevity wheel and wear it. Samaya! Seal! Seal! Seal! The fifth, deceiving death through substances: Practice the essence of nectar, rely on it according to the scriptures, and strive to recite the wind-prana. Samaya! Seal! Seal! Seal! The sixth, deceiving death through meditation: Practice the outer, inner, secret, and most secret unsurpassed five (yogas). In addition, in the state of emptiness, transform your body into a golden five-pronged vajra, surround it with the heart mantra, and visualize light radiating, protecting against obstacles. I meditate! Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Seventh, deceiving with ability: A monk of the same age as oneself recites the number of years of Amitayus. In temples, stupas, etc., offer various butter lamps. Make tsatsas (small clay tablets) and do four hundred times, repair bridges and roads, etc. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Eighth, deceiving universally: Five types of earth and five types of water, five types of grains and five types of jewels, mix these together and make male and female effigies, write Kham (space) on the crown of the head, write Ram (fire) at the throat, write Ai (wisdom) at the heart, write Lam (earth) at the navel, write Yam (wind) at the secret place. Have an ox and a cow carry them, on a black cushion, place the male and female effigies, and erect an arrow and a spear. Finally, encircle the images of the twelve zodiac signs. Collect a hundred jointed grasses and a hundred effigies, recite the life ritual once, after reciting the praises, use this ritual to avert the inauspiciousness of the year, avert the inauspiciousness of the month, avert the inauspiciousness of the day, avert all bad trigrams, avert all bad mewas, avert all obstacles to life. Shout 'So-and-so's death is averted,' clap hands, repeat three times and shout loudly, scatter tormas (ritual cakes) in the four directions, prostrate to the deities of the four directions, perform ransom for the gods and demons, scatter grains and shout 'Death is averted,' build stone piles in the four directions of the house. By doing this, death can be averted. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! This ritual of averting death is taken from the 'Immortal Secret Tantra.' The current Lhacham Pema Sal will be born in the Bumthang region.
