Auspicious land without defects should be chosen, preferably by someone of high caste, with pure lineage, wealthy, with faith, devotion, and compassion. Similarly, land, stones, water, trees, etc., should also be chosen from places where the noble lineage is not damaged; the royal lineage should be chosen on ridges or mountaintops; the Brahmin caste should be chosen on white rocks, like where vultures gather; suitable for the Vaishya (merchant) caste are meadows with blooming flowers; the Shudra (servant) caste should be chosen at the foot of mountains like a virgin, with signs like jewels or babies on the lap, monkeys playing; the Chandala (butcher) caste should be chosen on black rocky mountains, like angry Sogpos (Mongols), or places like rows of arrows, spears, and swords. It is best if (materials) can be obtained from the top of a mountain overlooking all valleys and forests. If not, do not take from the lower parts of mountains belonging to the king, royal family, and Brahmin castes. Then, arrange the materials and perform bathing. Recite the mantra of blessing, completely abstain from unclean food and use, do not exhale breath, put the materials into the vase, do not mix up and down, fill it tightly, erect the life-tree in the middle, do not reverse front and back, firmly bind it, do not have any looseness. Such vases, arrange as many as possible according to ability and wealth. In front, in a clean and auspicious place, place a white, smooth, and pleasing platform, the size depending on the situation. Clean the ground with clean holy water, scatter flowers, and take it as an auspicious place. Draw sixteen large circles and bless the ground. Using colored powder or white rice, draw a circle in the center, surrounded by four-petaled, five-petaled, eight-petaled, twelve-petaled, and twenty-eight-petaled lotuses, decorated with jewels. In the four corners, draw the self-nature images of the four elements. Place four vases in the four directions. Place a large vase in the center. On the lotus petals, place vases and tormas, and place their respective statues and banners. On the central vase, place a mandala plate, on which is placed a jewel vase filled with continuously flowing water and twenty-five materials, and decorate it with a neck ring. Around the periphery, enclose it with a green fence, connected with trees, flowers, colored clouds, cotton, five-colored arrows, etc. In addition, arrange the torma offerings of the Three Roots, etc., beautifully in a warm and blessed manner. These are the preliminary rituals. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya!
