By carefully restraining myself, I can naturally subdue the appearance of external circumstances, which is necessary. These are the characteristics of places that are universally cherished, explained from the outer, inner, and secret aspects. Secondly, the greatness of auspicious interdependence lies in the fact that, generally, the Sangha (dge 'dun gyi sde), the king's palace (rgyal po'i pho brang), the yogi's hermitage (rnal 'byor pa'i sgrub khang), and so on, are all auspicious. The interdependence of accumulating enjoyment is: as stated in the Vajrakila 'Bhito Tota Mala Jewel Tantra' (phur pa bhi to ta da ma la nor bu'i rgyud): In an auspicious place, make a pottery vase that can hold one 'bre' (a unit of measurement), and inside it, place a wax figure of the dragon king 'Norgay' (nor rgyas, Wealth Increase), eight fingers high, with the attire of a king, having seven snake heads, holding a jewel in his right hand and an utpala flower in his left, with his lower body coiled into a snake. Smear it with bezoar. In front of it, place a figure of the dragon queen 'Norbu Gewodan' (nor bu'i cod pan, Jewel Crown) made of the same materials, seven fingers high, with five snake heads, holding her palms together and looking up at her father. Place these two figures face to face in the vase. Take grains from three, five, seven, nine, or eleven valleys that are wealthy and possess good fortune, and place them in the vase. Also, various silks, various medicines, various grains, five kinds of jewels, and milk from a woman who has not been with a former husband, milk squeezed by a son whose parents, son, and husband are all alive, and white and yellow milk, and white goat's milk, these three white things, and three sweet things, fill the vase to the brim. On any auspicious constellation day, set out offerings to the Three Jewels. Place the vase on a pile of rice. Four monks, from the southern ocean, invite the dragon king 'Norgay' and the eight great dragons according to the ritual, and the vase becomes a great dragon palace, inviting the prince and retinue and offerings three times and dissolving them into it. Recite the essence of interdependence and auspicious verses, and place it in the center of the house, in a brick room that is one 'khru' (cubit) above the ground. Offer incense and three white offerings, and pray for the desired things. Then plaster it on top and draw the sun, moon, auspicious stupa, and so on. This will increase people, wealth, and enjoyment, and whether it is a Sangha, a king, or a yogi, it will cause the Dharma to flourish and develop. Furthermore, in the degenerate age, when Han Chinese, Mongols, Turks, and other border armies, or other enemy kings' armies, repeatedly come at various times of the year, month, and day, or when various evil diseases occur in the country, or when livestock diseases cause people and livestock to be driven away by plagues, in order to resist and protect against these disasters, the method is: to protect and bind with the wrathful Vajrakila (drag po'i phur pas), subduing gods and demons. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
