As it is said in the scriptures: 'Know the offerings, know the army, know the zor.' Therefore, when offering the Torma, one should know that it is the deity during offerings, sadhana, and empowerment; it is the army during dispelling; and it is the zor during throwing. This is the principle of non-differentiation. Furthermore, as stated in the Gongdü (Wylie: dgongs 'dus) and other texts, the methods of arrangement vary. Therefore, whether the samadhi is clear or not, and whether the offerings are abundant or not, mainly depends on the intentions of the respective scriptures. Regarding the materials for the Torma, in the self-nature of the Gongdü Torma, there are three categories: outer, inner, and secret, divided into nine types. The materials for the outer Torma have already been mentioned in the food section above. The inner white three are butter, fat, and bones; the sweet three are excrement, large fat, and smoke. Even if protecting these, there is also urine amrita (藏文:དྲི་ཆུ་ཨ་མྲྀ་ཏ,梵文天城体:मूत्रामृत,梵文罗马拟音:mūtrāmṛta,汉语字面意思:尿甘露), mixed with alcohol, large meat, and various foods. The secret white three are marrow, brain, bodhicitta, etc.; the sweet three are female essence, great medicine, red ochre, as well as essence and dregs.' Thus it is said. These inner and secret Torma materials are mostly difficult to gather temporarily, so according to the oral instructions, various spices and foods, as well as many kinds of spices, are matched with their respective types, and selected according to needs.' Thus it is said, the types of spices are also mixed with the materials. Just adding spices can purify the materials, which is a simplified method made by a few vidyadhara (持明) masters. In terms of sadhana, for the items praised in the materials and spices of the Torma, as well as the previously mentioned eighty thousand kinds of mixed medicine powder, and the kidney, heart, lungs, spleen, vasuta (梵文,vasutā,脂肪) from clean animals, which are the five inner liberations, as well as five types of fat, marrow, butter, oil, bones, gorocana (牛黄), five types of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, heart, which are the five senses, various fruits such as pomegranates, grapes, peaches, mangoes, etc., non-toxic flowers, three fruits, six good medicines, camphor and other medicines, barley, rice, wheat, beans, sesame, white mustard, and other grain powders, yogurt, cheese, butter, honey, sugar, jaggery, etc., which are white and sweet items, calamus, ginger, pippali, pepper, haritaki, amalaki, salt, turmeric, and other spices, as well as mushrooms and garlic from mountains and rivers, these pure mixed powders are mixed with alcohol and blood, made into tormas, blessed by the above methods, and mixed, scattered, and poured into the sadhana tormas and offering tormas of the root three, protectors, and supreme inner deities. Third, secret offerings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding secret offerings, although there are sixteen Mind-emanated Consorts (yid sprul rig ma bcu drug) and actual offerings, in the daily rituals of Tibet, everything can only be Mind-emanated, and there is no mention of displaying symbolic objects. Offering substances: In general, all offerings can be used as offering substances. In particular, in the fulfillment ritual of the Eight Herukas of the Kagyü (bka' brgyad mdangs skong), regarding the fulfillment of the samaya substances, it is said: 'Supreme Great and Supreme Small, those with names, and za le, 'bri, crystal egg (shel sgong lug), tsa ra, etc., are fulfilled with radiance.' and so on. Especially the extremely rare fulfillment substance—the great volume (bam chen). These things must be displayed correctly, completely, without damage, without deterioration, and with vitality, so that the vows of the vow-holders can be fulfilled. The practice of actually displaying these things is rare now, and if the samadhi is not clear, just reciting verbally is like the echo of a stone, or the recitation of a parrot, not only is it meaningless, but it will also incur the wrath and punishment of the guardian deities, so making statues or printing the fulfillment Torma (skong gtor) into books and using them is very important, so I will briefly explain it here. Next are the incidentally mentioned necessities. At the time of consecration (rab gnas), the bathing utensils include the 'dag chal for washing and the fragrant spices (dri bzang) for smearing. Regarding the former, it is explained in five steps in the 'Middle Way Sequence' (dkyil chog rdor phreng): yogurt, milk, butter, honey, granulated sugar, these are the five external elixirs; milk, yogurt, butter, feces, water, these are the five products of a cow; banyan tree (nya grodha), cluster fig (udum ba ra), gular fig (plakSa), long pepper (pippalya), gandha muNDa, these are the bark of five milky trees; five fragrances; and emblic myrobalan (skyu ru ra) and rapeseed flour, which need to be smeared and washed in sequence. If you cannot find the five tree barks, you can replace them with trees that are common in Tibet and have milk and nectar, such as Balu, Ombu, etc. If even these are not available, Master Tsongkhapa (slob dpon kun dga' snying po) said: 'Sukaapa and bean flour, and the five kinds of kusha grass, and bricks, etc., can be used for bathing.' Therefore, it is essential to prepare at least a small bundle of kusha grass (dUrba). The second is the smearing spice: white sandalwood, red sandalwood, saffron (gur gum), granThi ka, agarwood (a ga ru), or saffron, agarwood, musk (gla rtsi), camphor (ga pur), etc., mixed according to the spices that can be found. In addition, other special combinations of activities, such as the seven births of liberation (skye bdun myang grol) and transference substances ('pho rdzas) for supreme activities, poison, blood, horn, amulets, and the three decorative wheels of incense, fumigation, and hanging, which represent pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and subduing, as well as medicinal formulas and year-round protective pills for pacifying diseases, rough materials such as black horses for pacifying evil spirits, and items for increasing longevity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
