The five kinds of Vidyadharas (Tibetan: རྩལ་འཆང་རྣམ་པ་ལྔ།, referring to five different types of Vidyadharas), the six types of Guru who tame beings (Tibetan: འགྲོ་འདུལ་གུ་རུ་རིགས་དྲུག), the seven generations of Gurus similar to the Seven Buddhas (Tibetan: སངས་རྒྱས་རབས་བདུན, གུ་རུ་རབས་བདུན), the eight supreme emanated names (Tibetan: སྤྲུལ་པའི་མཚན་མཆོག་བརྒྱད), the twenty-two magical names (Tibetan: འཕྲུལ་མཚན་ཉི་ཤུ་ཕྲག་གཉིས), the fifty teachers of Sutra and Tantra (Tibetan: མདོ་སྔགས་ཀྱི་སྟོན་པ་ལྔ་བཅུ), and the immeasurable transformation of the illusory Vajra dance, like the nature of space, mainly with the one hundred and eight supreme names (Tibetan: མཚན་མཆོག་བརྒྱ་རྩ་བརྒྱད་གཙོ་བོར་གྱུར་པའི་ནམ་མཁའི་རང་བཞིན་གྱི་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་རོལ་གར་ཚད་མེད་པར་བསྒྱུར་བ). Each of these has its own methods of practice, the key points of the generation stage and completion stage, and the order of activities, and most of them have been given to the rulers and subjects of Tibet (Tibetan: བོད་ཡུལ, རྗེ་འབངས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དབང་སྐལ་དུ་བསྩལ་པ་ལས) as their fortune. The basis, root, or core of all these Guru sadhanas (Tibetan: བླ་སྒྲུབ་) is this Vajra Seven-Line Prayer (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཚིག་རྐང་བདུན་པ་འདི་ཉིད). As the scripture says: 'I am the ever-holder of the lotus (Tibetan: བདག་ཉིད་པདྨ་ཀུན་ཏུ་འཆང་), when in equipoise in the primordial realm (Tibetan: གདོད་མའི་དབྱིངས་སུ་སྙོམས་ཞུགས་ཚེ), the Vajra sound of the self-arisen power of Dharma (Tibetan: ཆོས་ཉིད་རང་རྩལ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྒྲ), urged by the self-arisen melody of the seven lines (Tibetan: ཚིག་བདུན་རང་བྱུང་དབྱངས་ཀྱིས་བསྐུལ), the Sambhogakaya's immeasurable splendor arises (Tibetan: ལོངས་སྐུ་གཟི་བརྗིད་དཔག་མེད་བཞེངས), in the all-pervading space with five certainties (Tibetan: མཁའ་ཁྱབ་ངེས་པ་ལྔ་ལྡན་གྱི), shows the arrangement of the field and body (Tibetan: ཞིང་དང་སྐུ་ཡི་བཀོད་པ་བསྟན), at that time, the five consorts of the Dhyani Buddhas (Tibetan: དེ་ཚེ་དབྱིངས་ཀྱི་ཡུམ་ལྔ་ཡིས), urge with the song of the seven lines for the benefit of beings (Tibetan: འགྲོ་དོན་ཚིག་བདུན་གླུ་ཡིས་བསྐུལ), in the ocean of milk in the realm of Great Bliss (Tibetan: བདེ་ཆེན་ཞིང་དུ་འོ་མའི་མཚོར), an emanation arises on the top of a lotus stalk (Tibetan: པད་སྡོང་རྩེ་ལ་སྐུར་བཞེངས་པ), known as the Five Skull Garland Lords (Tibetan: ཐོད་ཕྲེང་སྡེ་ལྔ་ཞེས་སུ་གྲགས), whose liberating activities are inconceivable (Tibetan: རྣམ་ཐར་མཛད་པ་བསམ་ཡས་འདས), again, the wisdom Dakini (Tibetan: སླར་ཡང་ཡེ་ཤེས་མཁའ་འགྲོ་མ), with hundreds of millions of voices together (Tibetan: བྱེ་བ་ཕྲག་བརྒྱས་མགྲིན་གཅིག་ཏུ), in the land of Jambudvipa where Shakya tames (Tibetan: ཛཾ་གླིང་ཤཱཀྱའི་གདུལ་ཞིང་དུ), for the sake of spreading the secret mantra teachings (Tibetan: གསང་སྔགས་བསྟན་པ་སྤེལ་བའི་ཆེད), pray with the melody of the seven lines (Tibetan: ཚིག་བདུན་དབྱངས་ཀྱིས་སྤྱན་དྲངས་པས), in the land of Oddiyana, the source of mantras (Tibetan: སྔགས་ཀྱི་འབྱུང་གནས་ཨོ་རྒྱན་ཡུལ), in the Dhanakosha lake island (Tibetan: དྷ་ན་ཀོ་ཤའི་མཚོ་གླིང་དུ), on the top of a wondrous lotus stalk (Tibetan: ངོ་མཚར་པདྨའི་སྡོང་པོའི་རྩེར), an emanation comes from the realm of Great Bliss (Tibetan: བདེ་ཆེན་ཞིང་ནས་སྤྲུལ་སྐུར་བྱོན), known as the Lake-Born Vajra (Tibetan: མཚོ་སྐྱེས་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཞེས་སུ་གྲགས), showing inconceivable miracles (Tibetan: བསམ་མི་ཁྱབ་པའི་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་བསྟན), the wonderful arrangement is beyond measure (Tibetan: ཡ་མཚན་བཀོད་པ་ཚད་ལས་འདས), to the heroes and Dakinis of the lake island (Tibetan: མཚོ་གླིང་དཔའ་བོ་མཁའ་འགྲོ་མར), the innermost essence of the great secret (Tibetan: གསང་ཆེན་གསང་བའི་ཡང་སྙིང་ནི), the tantras, agamas, and upadeshas of the Net of Magical Manifestation of the Lotus (Tibetan: པདྨ་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་དྲྭ་བ་ཡི, རྒྱུད་ལུང་མན་ངག་བྱེ་ཕྲག་བརྒྱ), for the sake of the different intentions of those to be tamed (Tibetan: གདུལ་བྱའི་བསམ་པ་ཐ་དད་པ), therefore, he speaks of the meaning and benefit of what has arisen and will arise (Tibetan: བྱུང་དང་འབྱུང་འགྱུར་དོན་ཕྱིར་གསུངས), all are the embodiment of the Three Roots united as one (Tibetan: ཀུན་ཀྱང་རྩ་གསུམ་གཅིག་འདུས་དངོས), which is the method of practicing oneself as the Guru (Tibetan: བདག་ཉིད་གུ་རུ་སྒྲུབ་པའི་ཐབས), the root of all of them is the seven lines (Tibetan: དེ་ཀུན་རྩ་བ་ཚིག་བདུན་པ), the seven consciousnesses of the ground (Tibetan: གཞི་ཡི་རྣམ་ཤེས་ཚོགས་བདུན་པོ), the seven branches of enlightenment at the time of the path (Tibetan: ལམ་དུས་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཡན་ལག་བདུན), the seven profound meanings are perfected as the result (Tibetan: དོན་དམ་སྐོར་བདུན་འབྲས་བུར་རྫོགས).' The above is the meaning of the scripture. The benefits of this prayer are: just by urging with this Vajra sound (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྒྲ་དབྱངས་འདིས), the Lotus Master (Tibetan: པདྨ་བདག) will come involuntarily and bless (Tibetan: དབང་མེད་བྱོན་ནས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབ), bestow the empowerment of great wisdom (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས་ཆེན་པོའི་དབང་སྐུར་བསྩལ), the deities of the Three Roots gather like clouds (Tibetan: རྩ་གསུམ་ལྷ་ཚོགས་སྤྲིན་བཞིན་འདུ), bestow the two siddhis without obstruction (Tibetan: དངོས་གྲུབ་རྣམ་གཉིས་ཐོགས་མེད་སྟེར), meet me in experiences, dreams (Tibetan: དངོས་ཉམས་རྨི་ལམ་ང་དང་མཇལ), rainbows swirl, and wonderful fragrances spread (Tibetan: འཇའ་འོད་འཁྱིལ་ཞིང་དྲི་བཟང་འཐུལ), hear the sounds of signs and the sound of the hand drum (Tibetan: བརྡ་དབྱངས་ཅང་ཏེའུ་སྒྲ་སྐད་ཐོས), great blessings come to body, speech, and mind (Tibetan: ལུས་ངག་ཡིད་ལ་བྱིན་ཆེན་ཕེབས), realize the wisdom of rigpa and Tögal (Tibetan: རིག་རྩལ་ཐོད་རྒལ་རྟོག). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
