Hūṃ! Like a rainbow of many colors intertwined, the essence of the body of Mahaguru (Great Teacher) appears clearly. Thus appearing, from the three places (body, speech, and mind) light radiates, and from the palace of the Copper-Colored Mountain (Nga Yap Ling), like an opened sesame pod, we invite you. Future fortunate sons and daughters of the lineage, if you wish to practice the Vidyadhara (Knowledge Holder) Padma Odbar (Lotus Light), in a solitary and secluded place, generate deep devotion and respect for the Lama's (Guru's) teachings, and contemplating the suffering of samsara (cyclic existence), generate renunciation from the depths of your heart. Contemplate the suffering of the three lower realms and samsara, and constantly rely on Orgyen, generate unwavering faith from the depths of your heart, with hair standing on end and tears flowing. Take refuge in the protector, there is no other refuge besides Orgyen, whether in good times or bad, high or low, rely solely on Orgyen Guru. Thinking thus, the place where you are, is itself the Akaniṣṭha (Ogmin) Pure Land, Sukhavati (Dewachen), the Lotus Light realm (Pad Od), and Tuṣita (Ganden), believe it to be real and generate steadfast faith. Visualize the object of your devotion, either on the crown of your head, in the center of your heart, or in the sky in front of you, the assembly of all Buddhas, the Yidam (personal deity) mandala, the ocean of Vidyadharas, Siddhas (accomplished ones), and Dakinis (sky dancers). Its essence is Padmasambhava (Lotus Born) Padma Odbar, constantly generating strength with devotion, from the palace of Orgyen Padma Od, with compassionate blessings, rays of light, and hooks. Like stars shining in the clear sky, invite the assembly of Padma Odbar Vidyadharas and Dakinis, like immeasurable rain clouds gathering, merge them inseparably with yourself, the substances of practice, and the place. Burn incense, play the Damaru (hand drum), play various musical instruments, and recite these words with melodious and beautiful sounds: Hūṃ Hūṃ Hūṃ! Hūṃ Hrīḥ! (Tibetan, Devanagari: हूँ ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ hrīḥ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ Shrī) In the beginning of the past kalpa (aeon), in the northwest of the land of Orgyen, on the island in Lake Dhanakośa, in a lotus stem and flower, you attained the supreme and wondrous accomplishment, known as Padmasambhava. The primordial Buddha, the unchanging body of light. Lord of the lineage, Kunsang Dorje Chang (kun bzang rdo rje 'chang, Sanskrit: Samantabhadra Vajradhara, All Good, Vajra Holder). Unborn, spontaneously present, blazing light, power of the skull garland. In this place free from grasping, I invite you to descend! On the island of the Sindhu Ocean in the land of Oddiyana, Great Kunsang, the sign of the Motherless. Immortal Vidyadhara, filling existence with light. A hundred million kotis, Padmasambhava (pad+ma 'byung, Sanskrit: Padmasambhava, Lotus Born) manifests. From the natural state, I summon the accomplishment of life. Supreme Lord, blazing light, power of the skull garland. In this place, with intense longing, I invite you! Vidyadharas, accomplished ones, oceans of Buddhas, Come like clouds in the clear sky. Mothers, Dakinis, oath-bound oceans, Come swiftly like dust settling on the ground. Rainbows of many colors, like motes of sunlight swirling, For the sake of blessing, please descend! In this sacred place, bestow your blessings! Upon this supreme self, bestow the four empowerments! Bless this devoted child! Pacify obstacles, evil influences, and hindrances!
