In the west, visualize the red or black Padma Heruka (Heruka, wrathful deity), holding a lotus and 'ཏི་ར།'; in the north, visualize the green or black Karma Heruka, holding a crossed vajra and Mount Meru. The four consorts of the families are: Vajradhatvishvari (Vajradhatvishvari) blue, Mamaki yellow, Pandara red, and Tara green. All four consorts hold a bell in their right hand and a vajra in their left hand, appearing as goddesses. The four Krodheshvaris (Krodheshvari, wrathful queen) are: Vajra [this seems more suitable for the purple Buddha Krodheshvari], Ratna, Padma, and Karma. The Krodheshvaris are blue, yellow, red, and green-black respectively. They hold a khatvanga in their right hand and a skull cup filled with blood in their left hand, displaying power in a fierce manner. If one can grasp by visualizing these, then visualize all of these as an assembled mandala. If not, then visualize any one of the outer, inner, or secret ones that you prefer. Therefore, the supplementary oral instructions do not mention the four Heruka father and mother deities, which seems to be the intention. At the navel of the father deity, visualize the four deities of the 'Hum' (Hūṃ, seed syllable: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, literal meaning: Hum) practice. Although it is said this way in the root text of the oral transmission, nowadays, apart from the 'Hum' practice of Vajrakila and wrathful Hayagriva, it seems that the four deities are not fully recognized, which I think is because they were not written on yellow paper or have been lost. However, now the master says that in the ritual practice, it is sufficient to visualize the Great Excellent Heruka (Mahottara Heruka) alone. This refers to Vajrakila sitting in a half-lotus posture on a tiger skin seat. 'The lamas on the crown of the head have the posture of dance,' the root text says to visualize them making quick dance movements. Thus, for those with superior faculties, all the deities are clear and unmixed like a rainbow; for those with medium faculties, generate them by recalling the meaning of the words; for those with inferior faculties, visualize any one deity as the collection of all, like a wish-fulfilling jewel. Second, the recitation of speech vajra, the secret gathering mantra: At the heart of all the deities in the four places of the father deity, on a moon disc, surrounded by a garland of seed syllables, white. At the heart of all the goddesses in the four places of the mother deity, on a sun disc, surrounded by a garland of seed syllables, red. In the space in front, on the right, above the moon, the mantras of the main father deity and retinue revolve clockwise, each forming a gray circle; on the left, above the sun, the mantras of the main mother deity and retinue revolve counterclockwise, each forming a red circle. From each of these two circles, two emanate; from two, four emanate; from four, eight emanate; the sky is filled with white and red mantras. The outer container transforms into a palace of letters, the inner content, all male beings are visualized as the five father deities, all female beings are visualized as the five mother deities. Visualize the sky and the earth filled with white 'Hrih' (Hrīḥ, seed syllable: ཧྲཱིཿ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, literal meaning: Great compassion) and red 'Vam' (Vaṃ, seed syllable: བཾ, Devanagari: वं, Romanized Sanskrit: vaṃ, literal meaning: Independent) white and red mantras. At the beginning of each session, recite 'Hrih Hrih, Vam Vam' one hundred and eight times or twenty-one times. Then, from the mantra at the heart, light emanates, like a flame. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
