Treat with heavy, oily, smooth, and warm foods such as marmots, horses, donkeys, human flesh, garlic, and onions. For conduct, stay in a dark, warm place. Use pleasing, sweet words, get enough sleep, and wear warm clothes. For medicine, use the juice of the three essences of bone marrow, and prepare old sheep's head soup. Administer the four essence soup and the three Costus soups. Use powders of nutmeg, Costus, and turmeric. Perform white discharge, meat discharge, garlic discharge, and sour discharge, and combine nutmeg, garlic, aconite, large bones, the three fruits, and root medicinal oils. In short, treat with sweet, sour, salty, oily, and warm substances. In particular, old butter is praised as a warm, gentle lubricant. For treatment, apply and massage with old leaf butter. Fumigate the painful areas with oily fumigation. Press the crown of the head and other wind points with fire. For bile disorders, fresh butter is the best. Treat with beef, venison, fresh meat, cool water tea, fresh yogurt, whey, sour porridge, sour fruits, and cool foods such as barley flour soup. For conduct, seek cool breezes, shade of trees, and green grass. Reside peacefully in a cool place by the water, without agitation. Anoint with pleasant, cool, and agreeable fragrances. For medicine, use herbal decoctions and common three-ingredient ointments. Combine camphor and sandalwood pills to enhance strength. In short, treat with sweet, bitter, astringent, and cooling medicines. In particular, purgation with sweet laxatives is praised. For treatment, induce sweating and turn water wheels. Bleed the dilated veins and fumigate with cooling substances. For phlegm disorders, honey is the best. Treat with the meat of fish, sheep, yak, game, wolves, and vultures, old grains, warm porridge, aged wine, and light, rough foods such as boiled water and ginger water. For conduct, warm yourself by the fire and wear warm clothes. In a dry place, exert physical and mental effort and do not sleep. For medicine, administer combined decoctions of salt and pungent spices. Combine powders of sesame seeds, cardamom, and ash medicines. In short, use pungent, sour, light, rough, and sharp substances.

Of these, the first is being intelligent, possessing the three qualities of great intelligence, stable intelligence, and sharp intelligence, completely understanding all medical scriptures, having no obstacles or hesitation in practice, being able to judge with intelligence, and manifesting subtle knowledge. This is said to be the best of the causes. Having a pure mind, possessing bodhicitta, in the preparation, main practice, and conclusion, one must first see suffering, give help and trust, maintain equanimity towards good and bad, love and hate, and possess the four immeasurables of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Generate the mind of aspiring to supreme enlightenment, cultivate the immeasurable four concentrations in the main practice, and praise without resentment in the conclusion. Possessing these qualities, one becomes a good doctor, a helper and friend to many.
