In a state where self-nature is not established anywhere, the clear appearance of the mind, and the forms of the objects of Samadhi, namely, aggregates of form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness, arise, mainly arising from the power of non-mentation. It is rare for them to arise during investigation. That is to be recognized as a sign that the nature of the mind is luminosity and that its nature is all-encompassing. Having grasped the essence of the key points of meditation in this way, it is permissible to explain it by combining it with the four grounds of yoga, or the uncommon four meditations of the Great Vehicle, or the five grounds of yoga, etc., as appropriate. During the main practice, one settles into non-mentation after investigation, or one investigates at the beginning and then settles only into non-mentation, or one enters into non-mentation from the very beginning, or methods of practice that are in accordance with the Mantrayana vehicle, etc. Everything will turn out well if it is in accordance with the intelligence of each individual. This very profound Sutra, I have explained by combining it with the power of my own intelligence. If it is too much, it will become difficult to understand. I have explained it briefly in the manner of a difficult commentary. By this virtue, may all sentient beings attain the state of constant Buddhahood. Until then, may many excellent explanations spread benefit and happiness in all directions. This commentary on the Heart Sutra of the Blessed Mother Prajnaparamita, called "Unprecedented Excellent Explanation," was composed by Gyal Kham Pa Tara Natha. This Sutra has a commentary by Vimalamitra, which is definitely a Chinese commentary, the one translated in the Early Propagation period, and a commentary on that by Ngok Lotsawa Chenpo, and an explanation of the meaning of those two by Ar Jangchub Yeshe, and a short commentary by the Blessed One Rig 17-545 Ral, which is concise and meaningful, and a commentary by Rongton Shakya Gyaltsen, and a commentary by the crown jewel of scholars, Shakya Chokden, and a good commentary that is said to have been composed by Jowo Je, which is included in the Tengyur, and those said to have been composed by Jnanamitra, and those said to have been composed by Prashastasya, and those said to have been composed by Mahajana, etc., also appear. This latter one also explains it in terms of other-emptiness. Most of those are in agreement with the direction of the great commentary of Vimalamitra in terms of the manner of explanation.

In any case, I have seen those commentaries that have become the subject of study for scholars, as well as some novel ideas such as the Tika of Tsetang Bumrampa, and a Nepalese Asu's oral tradition included in the Tengyur, and the one made by Lchegom Dzongpa, and also various commentaries that appeared in the meantime, explaining in the style of Chakdzog Shijé, whose author is unknown, and the small Tika of Ngödrup Palbar, who only took to proclaiming his own virtues, and various commentaries composed by those who later appeared and considered themselves teachers and meditators, with many false and meaningless statements. Here, apart from setting forth according to the views of Vimala and others, I have not followed any of the others, but have explained by the power of my own intellect. Now, since the great Panditas and translators, and the masters who hold the Tripitaka, have already made explanations, you do not need to make explanations here, and it is not appropriate to disagree with their explanations. If one thinks that it is too much to criticize the words of the great ones, then, in general, I do not need to make explanations for the sake of benefiting others, and we are not superior to them in the power of intelligence, and we cannot add even a little to their accumulation of merit, wisdom, and discipline, this is true. However, I do this in order to familiarize myself with my own intelligence, and it is also seen that the greatest ones do not pay too much attention to small treatises, and even if those with small intelligence strive hard, it is possible to discover various good explanations that the great ones have not found, this is possible. Although I have the utmost respect for them and their qualities, and remember their kindness, when I clearly see that their explanations cause harm in some aspects, and when I have a definite understanding of seeing evidence and reasons even for those aspects that they have not explained, no condition can prevent me from speaking these words, and there is no fault in saying this much. We are not beings with the intelligence of the noble ones, so it is appropriate to say that we may be mistaken, and if it is not just partial attachment and aversion, but if you are sure that you are wrong, then discard these explanations of ours as you please, and mine.

I do not generate anger and resentment. If the reasons are clear and certain, I will also accept them. The great Stodlung Gyamarwa said: When inferior people reach high positions, it is like claiming credit for what others have done. It is inappropriate to abandon the good teachings of the saints and establish different names elsewhere. Because pure faith has not arisen, there is this helpless discrimination. He also said: Although I have said many things that do not agree with the views of the venerable saints and wise ones, just as a Brahmin purifies his actions, this is the behavior of a discriminator. Therefore, the wise ones will not be displeased. Although this is the kindness of the lamas, it is also a special feature of one's own practice that discriminatory reasoning arises in the mind. Like a horse displayed on flat ground, it cannot match the object of reasoning. Even if one is well-versed in many scriptures, there is no autonomy. People with wisdom and wealth, please contemplate with a mind that abandons prejudice. Fortunate ones will generate great joy in this. As mentioned above, I also say: The faith of fools is one-sided. Although following the teachings of previous saints is very stable, even if wisdom is shallow, when one sees the measure of harm and establishment, even if the speaker is very excellent, one is unwilling to follow the opposite view. It is also said: Even if one speaks with hatred and anger, the saints will endure it, because they have not abandoned their respectful heart, how could they be displeased? For direct and indirect disciples, no matter whose wisdom is most outstanding, this is their kindness, and the attitude of respect will not diminish. The ministers of the king of kings, etc., even if their power, merit, and wisdom are great, the ignorant farmer can understand the principles that they do not understand. Similarly, I am also here, offering a garland of unprecedented new good sayings to the wise as a necklace. Please rejoice in this. Having said this, it should be understood not only for this explanation but for all the treatises that we have written. There are also some who say: Do not lie. If you say that you have said many good things that great people have not said, then among these words of yours, what are the good things that no one has said before?
