Unable to stop it, a temple was built on the spot. That temple is called Gasthapa. The former temple was also made into a stupa shrine. In the former history of Tibet, it is said: Because of fear of the king's punishment here, a statue of Avalokiteshvara resembling the great god Ishvara was built. However, that statue was later taken to an island in the ocean called Ganga Sagara due to fear of foreigners, and it is still there now. Those who have seen it say that it is the holy Hala Hala, with one face and four arms. That originally resembled the peaceful form of Ishvara, and was not falsely fabricated like the gods of the heretics. 17-154 After that, the minister Gewai Gonpo prayed, and the king, knowing that he was qualified, gave him initiation and also bestowed teachings and subsequent permission. In general, the power of the hero should not be diminished, nor should one deceive in any way. Although it is said so, at that time the dakinis prophesied that a painted image of glorious Chakrasamvara should be built as the minister's own yidam. That was very secret, and at night he practiced meditation and recitation and made offerings of tormas. The dakinis proclaimed that the minister Gewai Gonpo had built a statue to be sent to the king's throne, and this spread throughout the city. Some of the minister's relatives and friends said: You have built such a thing, it is better to send it to another place. If the king investigates and finds out, your head will be cut off. The minister was afraid, so he put the painting in a container, wrapped it in many cloths, disguised it as a corpse, and carried it on a stretcher. When it was being carried out from the south gate, the gatekeeper suspected it, grabbed it and looked, and found it was the painting. He tied it to the end of a stick and carried it to the king. The people in the city were telling the truth, that the minister Gewai Gonpo had painted such a thing. The king gathered the other ministers and those who had fled, and discussed whether Gewai Gonpo should be impaled on a stake or beheaded. Everyone spoke with one voice. The king said: You

Is it just saying without investigation? Becoming a king requires investigation and research to do. I will investigate, saying this, he summoned the virtuous protector. He showed him the painting and asked: Do you remember this painting of mine that suppresses the deities? Does your teacher remember? Whoever remembers, will be punished. The minister said: I don't remember this either, nor does the teacher, it was said by the Buddhists from their own scriptures. The king did not believe it, so he took the scriptures from his home and showed them to him. The king said: If that's the case, it is indeed true, but which of these two doctrines is true and effective, let's compete. Saying this, the king also sculpted a painting with Heruka (藏文:ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་) as the main deity. After the painting work was completed, the king said: Your painting and my painting, place them on a seat without any difference in height. Close the door, and neither you nor my people will enter. Offerings should also be offered together abundantly. Prayers should also be prayed together. After seven days like this, both of us will come together with our respective supporters to see the power of the miraculous scene. After that, whoever has power, the other who has no power must follow him. After saying this, he put the two paintings in a new temple. He did this for seven days. The minister could not disobey the king's order, although he did so, he was still afraid, and once went to the teacher and said: I have to do this, please teacher show your power. The teacher said: You are too timid, this matter does not require me to show power, how can the Supreme Heruka (藏文:ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་) be overcome by the lord of beasts? Saying this, he spent his days in the cemetery with various kinds of singing, dancing and other entertainment activities. Then on the eighth day, the king and the minister, together with the supporters of Buddhists and non-Buddhists, entered that temple together and opened the doors of the two paintings at the same time. There, the previous Heruka (藏文:ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་) painting was even more radiant than before. The painting sculpted by the king also changed by itself from before, and became Mahadeva.

and the glorious image of Heruka, subduing the goddess Uma, appeared. There, everyone offered to the painted image, and the great victory drum was also beaten, proclaiming, "From now on, the king and his retinue will become Buddhas." After that, the king also prostrated at the feet of the teacher Caryapa, requested empowerment, and received instructions. Later, at another time, both the king and his minister attained accomplishment. At that time, for a while, all the kings, ministers, Brahmins, merchants, householders, etc., only worshipped the Buddhist teachings, except for the worship of local deities and secret offerings. Bengal was completely transformed into Buddhism. Because that great region became like that, due to great wonder, this story called "The Tale of the Transformation of the Image" became well-known in India. The teachings of mantra also became very prosperous in that region. The teacher also stayed there for a long time at that time. Then, one time, he thought, "Now that I have visited the eight or sixteen great charnel grounds, and all the other great places, now I will also go to Devikota." After liberating the region of Bengal, he went to the intermediate region called Varendra. After some time had passed there, one day, on a road leading to the city, near a grove of various fruit-bearing trees such as water trees, jambu trees, and amalaka trees, there was a girl guarding the grove. The yogis who were traveling with the teacher asked her for fruit. The girl said, "You boast of having power, use your power to pluck the fruit and eat it." The teacher made a gesture of letting them fall, and all the fruits fell down with a crash. 17-157 Just as they were about to touch the ground, the girl simply made a gesture of raising her eyebrows, and those fruits flew back up and stuck to their original positions. Then, the teacher used a gesture to bring them down, and the girl used a gesture to stick them up. These two actions continued for a long time in an alternating manner. Finally, the girl said, "Do not be arrogant because you have a little power, and do not wander around everywhere at will," and then she disappeared. The girl
