This is the end of the twentieth chapter. Twenty-first chapter: The end of King Sangye Phuk's activities and the story of the time of King Karma Chandra. Thereafter, in the later years of King Sangye Phuk, in the eastern region of Oḍiviśa, a temple called "Jewel Mountain" was built on the top of a mountain near the great ocean. The teachings of both the Mahayana and Hinayana and all the treatises were copied three times and enshrined in the temple. Eight large Dharma centers were established, and five hundred monks were gathered. Near Bengal, on a mountain by the sea, a temple called "Mountain of the Gods," similar to Jewel Mountain, was built. The temple was built by the minister, the scriptures were built by the Brahmin Shangku, all the offerings were prepared by the Brahmin Purbu, and the temple's foundation and the monks' livelihood were provided by the king's consort. Among them, the Brahmin Shangku lived in the region of Puṇḍavardhana between Magadha and Bengal, with seven cousins and great wealth. He practiced the mantra of the Great Lord and tried to subdue the local dragon, but he was unsuccessful. The Brahmin family, including the seven cousins, were all bitten to death by venomous snakes. The Brahmin's son was Shangku, who was cherished by his relatives. Many mongooses were kept in the basement of the house, and snake-killing creatures called "Shelas" were kept outside the house. Many peacocks were kept on the roof to guard against snakes, and he worked hard to find mantras and substances to subdue the dragon. Later, one time the dragons came and made a loud "Phut" sound, and the peacocks panicked and fled. A great whirlwind blew, and the creatures called "Shelas" all burrowed into their holes. At that time, a small snake climbed up the corner of the house, entered the house, and bit Shangku to death. When the body was carried out, his wife took the body onto a dugout canoe and went along the Ganges River, asking, "Who can revive him?" Three days passed like this, and the shepherds were constantly mocking. Once, a woman
