Relying on this, he accomplished the supernormal knowledge of magical powers and the divine ear. At noon, he knew the minds of others and remembered past lives, and accomplished the divine eye. Then, in the last watch of the night, he accomplished the supernormal knowledge of the exhaustion of defilements. Having attained the unsurpassed wisdom, he became perfectly enlightened and became the Tathagata, the all-knowing one. Then, the gods of the demon race proclaimed in Kapilavastu that the Bodhisattva had passed away, and everyone was plunged into sorrow. But the white gods proclaimed that Shakyamuni had not died, but had now attained unsurpassed wisdom, and everyone was filled with joy. Thus, on the night of the fifteenth day of the Saga month (Tibetan April), the Bhagavan also attained unsurpassed wisdom. The moon was also eclipsed by Rahu. Rahula, the son of Yashodhara, was also born. Ananda, the son of nectar food, was also born. At that time, the great earth shook violently. All directions were filled with light. Between the realms of the world, all darkness was filled with light. In Kapilavastu, houses for giving were also built. Giving was practiced, and merit was made. A great celebration was also held. The Bhagavan Tathagata Shakyamuni, having attained perfect enlightenment, entered into the fire element samadhi and spent seven days in a single lotus posture. The Twenty-sixth: Dwelling Leisurely in the Forest. The twenty-sixth, dwelling leisurely in the forest, is: Then, when the second week arrived, two gods from the Brahma realm came. One of them said: Leader, victor in battle! Sinless one, arise and look upon the world! Precious Dharma will be sought. Sugata, please explain this supreme Dharma! The other also praised in agreement with him. Then, the Bhagavan arose from the previous samadhi. He specially expressed the bliss of peace, and physically demonstrated the joy and bliss of liberation, and remained in the lotus posture for the second week as well. Then, when the third week arrived. Merchant Gagong

Then, two people named Bhadra, along with about five hundred carts, were traveling on the road near the Vajra Throne (Bodh Gaya). Those merchants' friends, who had died and been reborn as gods, prophesied to and urged these two. The two merchants went to the Blessed One and requested him to accept the offering of honey and rice cakes. Then, the Buddha considered that the Buddhas of the past also accepted alms in a bowl, and not in their hands or begging bowls like the heretics. At that time, the Four Great Kings, knowing this, each took a stone bowl made by non-humans, which was clear, clean, and without stain, and offered it to the Teacher. At that time, knowing that if he accepted only one, the other three would be displeased; if he accepted two, two would be displeased; and if he accepted three, one would be displeased, he accepted all four and blessed them to become one bowl. Then, the merchants Gaga and Bhadra offered alms into that bowl, which the Buddha accepted. The Buddha guided them to take refuge and taught the Dharma of rejoicing in generosity. After that, the Buddha went to the bank of the Nairanjana River and performed the act of eating. Since honey and rice cakes provoke wind disorders, the Tathagata became slightly ill. Then, the evil Mara came and requested him to pass into nirvana. The Buddha said, "I will not pass into nirvana until I have attended to the four types of disciples and have not taught the path of pure conduct to beings." The Mara, displeased, disappeared. After that, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, took the best medicine, arura, from the Jambu forest and offered it to the Tathagata and urged him to take it. Immediately, the illness subsided, and he became very strong and even healthier. When the fourth week arrived, suddenly clouds gathered and bad weather occurred. Then, the Dragon King went to the place of holding dragons, and in order to prevent the wind and other elements from harming the Buddha's body, those dragons wrapped their bodies around the Blessed One and sat with their heads raised as a canopy. After the bad weather cleared, they transformed into the bodies of gods, respectfully prostrated, and inquired about his health.
